apologize for invading your privacy.” Sebastian reached for his mug to take another drink, but it was empty. Christian got up to refill it.
Gwen watched him walk away. That is one nice ass. Dammit, I have to quit it. Gwen rolled her eyes at herself. She didn’t want to look at Sebastian to see the expression on his face.
He reached out to take her hand, which was resting on her lap. “Gwendolyn, everything is fine. No matter what you think or feel, it is all perfectly acceptable. The last thing Christian and I want to do is scare you away.”
“I see that. I don’t know what to think. It seems like a bad joke my ex is playing on me. Yet I look in your eyes and see that you are telling me the truth. How can this be? Vampires aren’t real, are they?”
“You’re holding my hand now. I think it is safe to say that we are indeed real.”
It was true, her hand felt small encompassed in his large hand. Not as cold as she would have thought, since he was a vampire. But it felt good to touch him, like she belonged here.
“Ah, Gwendolyn, that is what Christian and I wish more than anything, that you would want us. We have searched for you for many years. You are an amazing woman.”
Gwen gave a wry laugh. “I am just a normal woman. There’s nothing at all special about me.”
“That is where you are very wrong,” Christian exclaimed as he came back with Sebastian’s mug. “You are truly very special. You have no idea.”
Sebastian took a long drink from the mug after Christian handed it to him, and he seemed to get stronger and sit up straighter, and, if possible, his sapphire eyes glowed even brighter.
    “Um, are you drinking blood?”
Sebastian sighed as though he knew she was going to ask. “Yes, it is. But it’s not like you think. We have a supply. A friend of ours owns a blood bank, and we get our supply from there. But we don’t usually need to drink blood at all.”
“So you won’t bite me, then?”
Christian was definitely the joker of the two, and he responded with a huge grin on his face. “Only if you ask us to, sweetheart.”
Swallowing that information and the endearment, Gwen turned her attention back to Sebastian. “Please go ahead. Let’s just get through the rest of this, shall we?”
“I’m sorry. I am not myself this evening, but I’m sure you could tell that already.”
Gwen nodded. She had known from shortly after dinner that Sebastian was not feeling well. Now she hoped that she’d find out why.
“Vampires are not what you’ve read about in books or romance novels. I suppose some do suck blood from humans, but most are much more sophisticated than that. We are able to be in the sunlight, and holy water will not hurt us, nor will a crucifix, but we can die by a stake through the heart, fire, and decapitation.”
“So no Bram Stoker’s Dracula tales for you?”
“No, not at all, although there are some truths there. He must have known a vampire or two to get parts of his book spot-on as he did.”
Christian reached for her hand now. “We are not thirsty unholy bloodsuckers, Gwendolyn. Hopefully you can come to terms with what we are.”
“I’ll try.” Gwendolyn looked from one to the other, two of the most gorgeous hunks of manhood she had ever come across. Is it because they are vampires or just damn lucky ?
“I’m not running away, at least not yet.”
“Good, because we both feel that there is something between us…all three of us. We’re not sure how you feel about that. Or if you’ve ever considered being with two men.”
“Well, umm, I’m not sure. I have my fantasies.” Gwen’s eyes got wide. “Oh my goddess, it was the two of you in my fantasy this morning. Have you done that before? Come into my head and changed my fantasies?”
“Yes, for the last few months. We have been searching for you for so long. We needed to know if you were the one.”
“The one what? Oh man, that makes a few things clearer now.”
    “The one we need to
