“Lillylillylillylilly…..it’s Lucifer Drake!!!” Chelle was standing in the doorway and Lilly could see her vibrating from across the room. Chelle was 18, she was Lilly’s niece,   and everything was SO exciting! “Ohmigod….!!”

Lilly smiled, she had been expecting his call, his uh…guy Harry, who seemed to do everything but feed Luke, was very annoyed about the summer show, but Lilly was holding them to it. “Calm down kid, he puts his shredded jeans on one leg at a time just like the rest of us…although come to think of it, they’re so tight, I’m not sure how he gets them on.”

Chelle rolled her eyes, “pick up the phone Lilly, he’s super hot, I can’t believe I got to talk to him!”

Lilly cleared her throat “Mr. Drake, I’ve been expecting your call,” she smiled at herself in the mirror she kept at her desk. Always smile when you’re on the phone. Even if you’re about to eat them for breakfast.

“Ms. Thorn, call me Luke, please,” his voice was hoarse and raspy, he sounded hung over. And sexy, how could he do that just in a few words? She felt her stomach contract and her breath caught, Chelle was right, he was ‘super hot’. She remembered that voice, she remembered everything about him. His chest had seemed like chiseled marble underneath his tight t-shirt, his arms were strong, and yet the skin underneath his biceps looked smooth and soft. She remembered wanting to kiss him there, wondering if he was ticklish… She blew out a sigh. But this was business, she was going to need to control herself.

“I understand we have an issue regarding your little contract”

“Mr. Drake, uh, Luke, well it’s not an issue exactly. You agreed to perform here for the 4 th of July weekend, which is our Summer Festival. I realize you signed it last summer, before your song hit the charts, but that’s the chance you take right? It’s just business.”

“Ms. Thorn,” he cleared his throat, it didn’t work, he was still raspy “we’ve offered to pay our way out of the contract, and I know your theater could use the cash. Is there a dollar amount you’d agree on?”   Say no, say no, say no, he chanted in his head.

He pictured her as he spoke, ‘buxom’ his Nana might have said. He remembered signing the contract, knowing it meant he could see her again. Her hand had brushed his when they were in the office together and if he thought about it he could still feel the heat of her skin. At least if she held him to it, he might get to see her again. Although he seriously doubted they’d be touching each other any time soon. He wanted this career more than anything, but a part of him, the part Harry said did most of Luke’s thinking, wanted her even more.

“Luke, as I’ve explained to your…uh…to Harry, we’d much rather have your show than your cash. I don’t think I need to tell you how much better for the community it is to bring in a crowd that will be spending the weekend, and buying food and drinks, staying in local motels, and generally spreading around their money, than to pay the theater a one time fee. I’m sorry but I’m afraid the contract stands.” She hoped her voice sounded solid because she had butterflies just talking to this guy. Even his breathing was sexy for God’s sake. Good thing she was sitting down, her legs would definitely not have held up this long if he were here.

“Miss Thorn…’” he sighed, defeated (sort of) “ok, whatever… let’s do this thing. See you on July 1 st for load in.” And with that Luke hung up. The part that was doing the thinking was at attention now, and very much looking forward to seeing Miss Lilly Thorn again. Every last curvy inch of her.

Luke sauntered down the hallway of the bus and handed his phone to Harry, who was looking at calendars and piles of paper. “We’re going to the beach, boss.”

“God, that figures, we could make 10 times as much someplace else, anyplace else. So,
