popularity with film connoisseurs, she also happened to be a very determined young woman. She would snag one of the Pascal-Baasch brothers if it killed her in the process.
“Hey, sweetie,” I enthused as I embraced Zed though my greeting to Brigitte was left as a slight wave.
I didn’t like her and the feeling was mutual.
“Hey, honey.” Zed kissed my cheek before he whispered in my ear. “Work related. She had to come along. We’re filming a scene today.”
He pulled away from me only slightly, our lips inches from each other as I studied his violet-blue eyes. “What? You’re doing the scene here?”
“Well, yeah. That’s why Blaine has that part of the loft sanctioned off. It’s an . . . intimate scene.”
A thinly veiled euphemism for a “sex scene” between him and Brigitte that I wasn’t too crazy to hear about if I was completely honest with myself. Yes, I knew they’d had sex before but Blaine had never asked me to watch him—the master at work—before today. I was hardly in a position to say no.
“Well,” I said in a voice loud enough for Brigitte to hear. “Do you two want some coffee?”
“No, thank you. I’m flyin’ high as it is,” she responded before she discreetly wiped her nose and wandered off towards the living room.
I held Zed back as he tried to follow casually in her direction. “Are you high too?”
“A little but I didn’t do as much as her.” He sighed out loud as I glared at him in a disapproving manner. “Listen, babe, I’m tryin’. I hadn’t used since you came to town but then Zed told me this scene had to be shot. What do you expect me to do? I don’t want you watchin’ as I fuck this bitch.”
I stepped back as if his touch had burnt me. “What do you mean? It’s just a carefully choreographed sex scene like any other movie, right?”
“No, it isn’t.” Zed looked down and played with his iPhone. I snatched it from him and held it hostage with my Samsung.
“What do you mean? Stop speaking in riddles and spit it out already.”
“I thought you knew . Surely Blaine wouldn’t keep that from you if you’re his new . . . romantic interest. Plus, if you’re learning from the master, surely he would tell you some of the tricks of the trade?”
“Blaine hasn’t told me shit,” I hissed. “I wanna hear it from you or I wouldn’t have asked. What do you mean when you say none of this is choreographed?”
“Fine. It’s like a porn film, Vie. We fuck for real. The only difference is Blaine doesn’t believe in all the close-up shots and the ‘cum’ shot. That’s not the type of movie he’s making but . . . he believes in realism. I wear a condom and it’s tastefully filmed but I have to sleep with Brigitte for real before I . . . kill her. It’s by strangulation so I only squeeze until she passes out and Blaine cuts. We make sure she’s okay and that’s filming for the day. A sex scene can take up to half a day to shoot because everything has to be pristine and orderly. You know what a perfectionist he is . . .” He trailed off while failing to look me in the eye.
“Of course, a little too well.” I smiled before I grasped his shoulder and squeezed it softly. “I’m going to take a shower but in the meantime, you two make yourselves at home. I’ll let Blaine know you’re here.”
    “Thanks, Vie.”
I walked only a short distance before I turned to Zed and smiled. “Don’t mention it. What are friends for?”

I couldn’t even hide my nervousness for what I was about to witness. Blaine had insisted I be on the set that day because sex scenes were the hardest to film and he wanted me to see how difficult this could be. If I could follow his lead with shooting a sex scene then WAGs would be a walk in the park.
Speaking of the upcoming show, we would start filming that autumn after we came back from his parents’ estate in Southampton. It turned out some of the wives would be staying in the Hamptons and I
