him of anything he had that was valuable.
Fresh knew that killing Shawn would send a message to not only Bamboo but to the streets also, and everybody knows the streets loved to talk.

âSorry about that, my moms be bugging sometimes,â Pop said, feeling like a complete idiot, as he stepped inside Nikaâs apartment. It didnât seem to matter what Pop did, his mother always found a way to spoil his day and embarrass him.
âThatâs okay, donât even worry about it,â Nika said, feeling embarrassed for him. âI didnât know that was your mother; sorry for cursing at her,â she apologized.
âItâs all good. Iâm about to start looking for a place anyway, âcause Iâm sick of her bullshit, and us in the same house ainât going to work,â Pop told her honestly.
âSo whatâs your plan?â Nika asked with a simple smile that let him know that she didnât look down on him or judge him for how he was living. She lived in the PJâs too so she could relate. Every apartment had a different ghetto story behind closed doors.
âWhat you mean?â Pop asked, confused.
âI mean what are you going to do until you find a crib?â Nika asked.
âI donât know. I guess stay in a hotel,â Pop answered.
Â
Â
âChill, you wilding. Thatâs mad money going to waste. You might as well stay here until you find something,â Nika suggested.
âNah, I donât want to be all up in your space, and all that,â he told her.
âItâs cool, plus we can get to know each other better,â Nika said, placing her hand on top of his hand.
âYou sure about this?â Pop asked, making sure she was cool with the fact of him staying there.
âYeah, itâs all good, one hand washes the other and both wash the face, you know?â she stated.
âThank you, I really appreciate it,â Pop said gratefully.
âI think you know how you can thank me,â Nika said, looking down at Popâs crotch, licking her lips.
Â
Â
âWhatâs wrong? You seem so stressed-out.â Amanda questioned as she gave Fresh an oil massage.
âI want you to move in here with me. I donât want you in those projects no more,â he said.
âWhy, is something wrong?â Amanda asked curiously.
âNah, I just donât want you up in there no more,â Fresh lied. âYou know how you just get a funny feeling in your gut sometimes.â
âYeah, I know what you mean, boo, plus who would want their beautiful wife up in the PJâs all day?â Amanda said playfully.
Fresh knew soon he and Bamboo would more than likely end up going to war. And he didnât want Amanda getting caught up in no bullshit, and he definitely didnât want anybody trying to kidnap her, so to play it safe he just wanted Amanda out of harmâs way.
âI think it is time we moved in together anyway,â he told her.
âWhat about Melissa?â Amanda asked.
âLet her keep the place for herself, or she could move in with us if she want,â Fresh said, taking a sip from his bottle of water. âPlus, Iâm pretty sure your sister could use the privacy.â
âDamn, I got a lot of shit that needs to be moved,â she said, thinking about all of her valuable belongings.
âLet me worry about that, you just worry about passing your road test next week,â Fresh joked. âHow you twenty-three years old and still donât know how to drive?â
âDonât worry, Iâm going to pass that test with flying colors, shit as bad as I want to drive Iâm going to pass that test,â Amanda said confidently as she watched Fresh take off his pants and head for the shower.
âDamn, I love that man,â Amanda said to herself as she watched her man head for the shower.
When Fresh got out of the shower, he hopped on the bed and
