“Come on, let’s go and put these two to bed. Then we can get down and dirty. I’ve waited nearly two weeks for this.”
Nick followed on his Harley, and as soon as I pulled into the yard, his hog pulled alongside the car.  It didn’t take long for me to locate the key, and with Toby tagging behind me, while Nick carried a sleepy Amelia, we made it to the door, only to find it ajar. As I am about to push it open, Nick shoves me out of the way, as he places Amelia in my arms.
    “Wait here.”

    Chapter 8

Shit, this was all I needed. After the tedious week of trying to track Tats, we had finally located him in some shack on the Bayou, outside Blue River Bend. Now all I wanted to do, was to climb into bed with Ellie and forget all about the crap that was going on. Instead of getting what I wished, Ellie and I, have come home to an open front door.
“Are you sure you locked it when you left earlier.”
Ellie’s face was full of apprehension, as she looked at me, her warm walnut brown eyes wide in a face, which has just turned very pale.
    “Yes.”
With a slight nod of my head, I make my way into the house.
    “Stay here.”
    “Nick?”
“Get back in the car with the children and wait for me.”
Ellie, threw one last glance in my direction, before heading towards the car. The hallway looked fine and nothing appears to be out of place. The next room, I went to, was the open plan living space, again everything looked untouched. Soundlessly, I crept up the stairs, thanking whoever was responsible for laying the carpet, as it cushioned my foot tread. Amelia’s and Toby’s rooms appears’ to have been left alone. When I finally reached Ellie’s sanctuary, I am greeted with a different story. About to reach for my phone, I spin towards the doorway, when Ellie’s yell, fills the room.
“Fuck it Ellie. I thought I told you to stay in the car.”
“Oh shit Nick, what have they done?”
The room stank of piss. Drawers had been emptied, and the contents lay scattered across the floor. On the mirror, in red lipstick, a message has been left. The en-suite, has not escaped the senseless vandalism either. The contents of the toiletries lay on the floor, and up on the walls. The deep tub taps, have been switched on, and the plug left in. Water was rising to the top, slowly trickling over the edges. Powder was turning to paste as it mixed with the water.
“Ellie, go down to the car and wait for me.”
“I need to clean this up, now.”
“Car, Ellie, I’m ringing the club, and we’ll get this sorted.”
    “What about Adam?”
“Adam, doesn’t need to be involved.”
“Nick, I work for the sheriff’s department. Do you really think I can keep this quiet?”
Fuck, I needed to keep this in-house, reaching for my burner, I rang Dec and explained what had happened. Several minutes later, I finally placed the burner back in my rear pocket, only to have the phone ring. The number flashing, I recognized as Inferno’s. Again, I confirmed everything that Dec has told him.
“The guys are on their way Ellie. You and the kids can’t stay here tonight.”
“That’s okay. We can stay at Eliza’s.”
Fuck that was not okay. I wanted to spend the night with Ellie, and I doubt if Ellie wanted to leave the kids.
“Ring Adam, tell him what’s happened, and then you and the kids, can stay at mine.”
    “Nick?”
“It’s only for tonight. Tomorrow we’ll get this place cleaned and I’ll move in.”
    “Nick!”
“It’ll only be temporary. Until we get this mess sorted out Ellie.”
As the sound of Hogs, invaded the street, Ellie glanced towards the window. A few minutes later, Inferno and Tabby were standing behind her.
    “Fuck. They’ve made a mess.”
Ellie jumped, and spun at the sound of Tabby’s voice.
    “Has anything being taken?”
Ellie made a dash towards her dresser, her jewelry box and its
