ass
bare, and Laird's cum trickling down the inside of my thighs.

    I stood up
and my dress fell back over my ass. Laird pulled his pants back up and buckled
his belt as I rearranged my hair and looked in shock at my flushed face and
chest in the mirror.

    Then Laird
whirled me around to face him and we kissed, hard. The sensation left me
breathless.

    "I'll
see you back at the table in five minutes," he said.

    "Okay,"
I breathed back, grabbing a fistful of his shirt so I could pull him back in to
kiss him. Laird left, looking as composed as he had when he had first walked in
and surprised me.

What had just happened? I was too elated to reflect on
it. I could hardly look at myself in the mirror; I was positively glowing.

    The rest of
dinner passed pleasantly, but all I could think about was Laird's intoxicating
cologne rubbed all over my body, his slickness tickling the inside of my thigh,
and of fucking him again.

    And he knew
it.

    Every time
our eyes met, his had the same devilish twinkle; and it left me breathless. It
was driving me out of my mind.

    ****

    "Do you
have to go already?" I knew Laird had a busy schedule, but I always hated
it when he had to leave early.

    "Hailey,
I'm sorry," he said, cradling my face tenderly in his hands. We kissed,
and I tried to hold him there with my lips, losing myself to every sweet second
he was still there, touching me.

    Then he
rolled out of bed. I melted back into the covers, breathing in his scent, which
was still heavy on the sheets.

    My hands
traced over the little bump in my belly. I couldn't believe that Laird had
actually given me a baby, and that we were a couple. It was surreal seeing my
name in the society pages of the New York Times, every time we had to attend
some crazy gala or charity ball.

    Of course,
now with the baby on the way, we were having more quiet nights in. And I loved
it.

    Laird picked
up his iPhone for a second, and I saw an expression of shock darken his face.

    "Shit,"
he said. "I can't believe it."

    "What
is it, sweetheart?" I sat up, alarmed.

    "Do you
remember that company I bought...when we just met?"

    "Yeah?"

    "It's
an avionics company. They make instruments for airplanes. A chartered jet
crashed in California last week, and the investigation put their instruments at
fault."

    "Oh my
God," I said, crestfallen. "That's terrible." I had read about
the crash last week. Glorious Fools, the jam band that Zach had been so crazy
about, had been aboard, and every single member died in the wreck. I remembered
how Zach had been obsessed with them.

Shit, what irony ! It was more than just a little
coincidental how both Laird and I hated the band.

    Memories. I
wondered what was Zach doing now?

    "The
company will probably have to file for bankruptcy. There goes seventy million
dollars."

    Then he
shrugged and leaned over to kiss my tummy.

    "It
doesn't matter."
