her body to the back. He crossed them behind her, his move bringing her body closer to his. She knew it wasn’t an accident that he didn’t touch her, even though her skin was screaming for some contact.
    A caress.
    Or better yet, a kiss.
She bit the side of her mouth and though he looked, he only smiled.
He shook his head slightly, reminding her who was in control.
Not her. The reality was frightening and fabulous.
He brought the rope ends to the front again and gave them a little tug. Kendra stood straighter, knowing he couldn’t miss the way her nipples were tight and hard. His smile broadened as he repeated the move over and over again. Kendra felt him encasing her in a rope cage, felt her heart hammer with mingled fear and excitement, and forced herself to stand still. She was breathing more and more quickly, perspiring a little in her anxiety.
    But she didn’t move.
She liked the admiration in his eyes too much to risk him calling a halt.
There had to be ten laps of rope around her waist when he was done, each row of rope nestled neatly against the next, the rope holding her elbows fast against her waist. When the rope was nearly gone, he knotted the ends together in the front, then tucked the ends into the coils. He stepped away, then turned to look. Kendra stood straight with her chin up, wanting his approval.
“Very nice,” he murmured and she felt a flood of warmth in response. He gave her a look that was obviously a command and Kendra struggled. She could barely move, so fought the bonds harder, with no success. Panic rose in her chest, a heat that combined with excitement. She looked up to find him smiling and knew he understood exactly what she was feeling.
    Powerless.
    Because he’d made her so.
    It was perfect.
“Walk across the room, Miss Jones.”
Kendra felt her breath hitch as she walked. What was his plan, exactly? It had been a great flourish to just sign the contract, but maybe she should have read it first. She reached the far side of the office and turned, only to be blinded by a camera flash.
“We might as well build our own portfolio,” he said calmly. “But ours will be digital, and we’ll keep it online in a secured database.”
    “But. . .”
He gave her a hard look. “Are you questioning me, Miss Jones?”
    “No, sir.”
“That’s unfortunate. I think I’m going to like disciplining you.”
Kendra wasn’t sure what to think of that. Should she be bad or good?
He seemed to guess her confusion. “You needn’t worry about it, Miss Jones.” His tone was gentle but resolute. “You can be punished whether you are good or bad. Sometimes you will be punished simply because I can’t resist the opportunity to do so. It’s not up to you. You’re not in control. This is the first thing you have to learn.” Kendra nodded understanding, feeling oddly relieved by his words. He continued, speaking gently. “Read the contract, Miss Jones.”
Oh, she would, but first things first. “Mayday, sir.”
    He met her gaze, waiting.
“I’d rather there were no pictures, sir.”
“A boundary, or a lesson learned?”
Kendra smiled. “I like to make new mistakes, sir.”
“Are you calling our first meeting a mistake or our contract?”
“A stroke of luck, sir. I can’t count on being so lucky again.”
Again, she seemed to have surprised him. After a heartbeat, he inclined his head. “I’ll add that to our addendum.” His easy concession pleased Kendra, convincing her that he really would take care of her. “Now, come here, Miss Jones.”
Kendra walked toward him obediently. She noticed how he looked at her, how his gaze slid over her legs and her breasts. His erection was visible in his trousers, and she saw again that she had some power in this transaction.
It was an exchange and a good one.
It might even prove to be an addictive one.
She stopped right in front of him and licked her lips slowly, noting how avidly he watched her. This wasn’t just about sex,
