didn’t
fucking know why.
“I think she likes you, Incubus,” Valia announced as she
flounced past him toward the door. Before leaving, she hesitated and turned
back to him. “Thank you for saving my sister. Now we can go out and find hot
males together. I actually have a Ferox demon in mind for her. Never had
one myself, but heard they’re wild and scrumptious.”
Kean felt his fists clench at his sides. A growl rumbled
from deep within. He knew of Ferox demons. They were huge and wild and
embodied the whorish nature Araya despised. Okay. So maybe he did too but the
thought of her with that disgusted him. Kean would please her. Give her
what she needed. A Ferox demon would fuck her like an animal and walk
away.
Valia’s laugh broke through his thoughts. “I like you,
Incubus.” She winked at him and left the room.
What the hell was that about? He’d never understand females.
Outside the bedroom anyway.
Araya walked into the room. His male ego bolstered at the
sight of her—knowing his semen was responsible for her transformation into the
sensuous beauty that walked toward him now. His cock instantly hardened as she
dropped her robe and stood before him naked. But she’d turned him on even
before, when she’d been weak. Yeah, it didn’t matter with this female. She
turned his crank either way.
“What are you doing?” Kean asked, surprised.
“What I need to do to get you out of here. Out of my life.”
She dropped to her knees and parted his robe.
“What the fuck? What’s that supposed to mean?” Kean grabbed
her arms at the shoulders and pulled her until she stood.
“Just let me do this. Satisfy my mother. And she’ll let you
go. We’ll both get what we want.”
Kean couldn’t believe his ears. She hated him so much she’d
do this willingly but apparently with no feeling so she could get rid of him
faster. He was hard and ready for her, yes. But he didn’t want her unless she
wanted him, wanted him as desperately as she had last night.
“Araya, I don’t want you like this,” he said softly.
Her eyes narrowed and her face flushed. “You’re rejecting me now ?”
“I mean that I don’t want you unless you want me. I don’t
want you to lower yourself and do something you don’t desire simply because
you’re angry,” he explained.
“What?” she squealed. “You won’t have me now but you
forced,” his fingers dug painfully into her shoulders so she amended, “you tricked me into it before.”
His face hardened. “I offered. You accepted. You truly
desired me at that time. We’ve been over this already.”
“Damn you.” The words left Araya’s mouth as a hiss.
He watched her inhale deeply and saw her pupils dilate with
every breath, the gold flecks in her eyes sparkling brighter. She reached up
and gently but firmly pushed his hands from her arms and stepped up to him on
tiptoes, her lips less than an inch from his.
“Can’t you tell? Don’t you know?” She breathed against his
lips. “I hate you for what you’ve done but I do want you. I can’t not want
you.”
Music to his fucking ears. Her scent engulfed him. Damn
right she wanted him and he’d give her what she needed, what she desired. He’d
give her an experience to remember, to cherish even if she hated him. He’d make
sure she felt loved her first time. Make sure she felt treasured so she had a
memory to hold onto if she ever felt like a whore for doing what she’d be
compelled to do from now on.
Thinking of her hopping from male to male enraged him.
Knowing it was his fault overwhelmed him with guilt. But he’d saved her life,
right? That had to count for something.
He stroked her cheek with his fingers. He moved forward and
inclined his head until his lips barely brushed hers, her fruity breath warming
his lips. “You hate me now and you’ll hate me more tomorrow, but tonight, I
want you to use me. Pretend I’m the only one you’ll ever desire. Pretend you
love me, Araya. Let me be your one
