fit into his world, that she may like it. Then on the other hand how do you tell someone that you ’ re the son of one of the most notorious families in New York and probably all of America and that you were sent to California to be his families hit man, it was not a subject that you could just bring up over dinner, he would not tell her, she never needed to know. “ I ‘ m gonna go to bed” Amelia announced as she stood to go into the bedroom, she walked to the door but stopped and turned around to look at Lucas “Hey do you wanna…” she broke off. “ Huh? Wanna what” his eyes were transfixed on the TV, there was some kind of Playboy Bunnies documentary on. “ Never mind.” she carried on into the bedroom and changed in the bathroom, when she came out Lucas was slumped up against the door “Hey” “ Hey” he looked at her with a kind smile “What was you going to ask me?” he walked over to her and smoothed her hair back out of her eyes. “ I was just gonna ask if you wanted to….” she looked away from him, he made her nervous. “ Wanted to what?” his voice sounded soothing “Amelia what are you asking me?” “ It ‘ s silly forget it” she moved towards the bed but Lucas softly grabbed Amelia ’ s had and pulled her back to him, he wrapped his arms around her and kissed her sweetly. “ Try me, I bet I don ’ t find it silly” “ I was merely going to ask if maybe you wanted to sleep in here tonight” she paused “With me. To sleep like not you know I ‘ m not ready for that but… it ‘ s silly I told you it was” “ I don ’ t think it ’ s silly, I think its sweet. Sounds good to me if your sure” “ Yeah but no sex” “ No sex, I promise. I ‘ ll go lock up and be in in 5mins” When Lucas came back in Amelia was already in bed wrapped up in the duvet, he liked the way she looked in his bed, he liked how she wanted him in bed with her even if it was purely platonic she still wanted him there. “You best not hog the duvet” he pulled off his shirt and his jeans and slipped into bed beside her, his skin was soft against hers. They lay in bed facing each other, their eyes locked in a gaze “Can I kiss you?” he asked. “ I ‘ d like that” she smiled, their lips met and they kissed.

Chapter Ten
Over the next few weeks Amelia and Lucas grew much closer. They kept their relationship secret, Lucas did not want Amelia to be singled out because he had a bad reputation but it was because Lucas was jealous that if anyone new he was dating Amelia the other lads at Cal High might notice her and try take her away from him, he would never let this happen. Their relationship was a secret that the two of them only shared, every weekend Amelia would stay over, they would go to the cinema, they would go out for a meal, they would spend every second together and they liked it. They had not had sex, Amelia was still not ready but Lucas respected this and he never tried to take things further, it took all his will power not to, he so much wanted to be with her, be inside her, give her pleasure that she had never experienced, he wanted to worship her and protect her. They both knew that they were falling for each other and both knew that this could be bad news, there was something between them, though very strong each knew deep down that this could well be the wrong kind of love.
The news of Andonetti and Cowter ’ s murder ’ s had died out, the police had no evidence, no suspect, they had nothing to go on. They had put the murder ’ s down to a drug deal gone wrong, no body cared that two low life ’ s were dead, it was one or in this case two less things to worry about. Lucas was in the clear.
News had got back to the O ’ Doud ’ s and they figured that a Valentino must be on the west coast, the though that it can not of been a coincidence that one minute one of their guys was shouting his head off bad mouthing the Valentino ’ s and next he ends up dead with the back
