sweat.
Hunter slid off her and she groaned. She heard him toss the condom in the wastebasket before he reached around and untied the blindfold.
She laid there, trying to catch her breath while meeting his gaze. Something about him made her feel vulnerable. When he looked into her eyes, she felt as if he could see into the depth of her soul. The parts she hid from the rest of the world.
His idle fingers lazily slid through her hair at the base of her neck. She didn’t want to move. She knew she should jump up and breeze out, like she always did, but instead she found herself wishing she could lie in bed with him forever.
Hunter lifted his head, propped himself up on his elbow. “That was … mind blowing.”
“Toe curling,” Luna agreed, wiping the sweat off her brow. She leaned in provocatively. “We’re going to have to do that again. This time I get to watch every expression and get the pleasure of seeing exactly what you’re doing to me.”
“I think that can be arranged.” Hunter rolled her on top of him, and fingers roamed over his chest.
With deliberate slowness, she leaned forward to kiss him, rubbing her breasts against him. “You like that?” she whispered.
“What do you think?” he said gruffly as his erection grew, pressing hard against her skin.
Reaching over, he grabbed a condom off the end table and handed it to her.
She had a feeling it was going to be a long night.

Around one a.m. Hunter got out of bed, moved to the window, and looked out. Luna rolled to her side and propped her head in her hand, watching him. He stood there naked, confident, and sexy as hell. As he should be. The moonlight streamed through the window, casting a silver glow on the sharp planes of his muscular body, he was a sight to behold. Her body ached with an irrational need to have him close to her. She noticed faint silver scars across his back. How had he gotten those? The memory of his reaction to the scar on his stomach stopped her from asking.
Hunter wasn’t prepared to share anything with her other than his body. Understandable, since she wasn’t exactly the type to bare her soul either.
She was startled by the realization that she would like to know what secrets he kept hidden underneath his hard exterior. Usually, she couldn’t care less about the men she got involved with. However, she was intrigued to know what made him tick. What experiences in his past made him who he was today?
On that note, Luna kicked the sheets off her and swung her feet over the bed. “I guess it’s time for me to get home.”
“Stay the night with me,” he said, without turning.
Thankfully, she still had a sane corner in her mind. She shook her head. “I can’t, I have to work in the morning.”
He turned around slowly. “Call in sick.”
Luna laughed. Why did he have to be so freakin’ gorgeous? It was hard to say no, but she had to remain strong. “I don’t have that luxury.”
He nodded and moved toward her. Reaching down, he drew her up, towering over her. “All right, but I want to see you tomorrow.”
They stared at each other for so long she was beginning to feel uncomfortable. The air between them seemed to thicken, making it hard to breathe. She knew things were moving too fast, but couldn’t seem to find the words to protest.
His fingers closed around the back of her neck and his thumb stroked the smooth, soft skin over her collarbone. The tips of her naked breasts grazed his firm chest. He watched his hand dip lower, gliding over her curves.
“You’re making it hard to leave.”
“Tell me you’ll see me tomorrow.” A muscle in his cheek twitched before he cupped her face and gave her a brief, but thorough kiss.
She swallowed visibly, licking her lips, which tasted like him. Nodding once, she dropped her head onto his chest, moving into the embrace. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”
Maybe she was reading too much into it; imagining he sounded almost
