The Marriage List
legs up. He
dropped his boxers, kicked them off then moved closer to the
credenza, positioned between her thighs and slipped himself inside
her.
"Oh my God," she moaned giving herself over
to the intense excitement he created inside her as she closed her
eyes, resting her forehead on his chest.
With one arm around her shoulders and the
other palm down on the credenza, he thrust into her hard. With
every thrust a small sound escaped her lips. He moved one hand to
her waist, holding her still as he pounded into her, sweat beading
on his forehead and chest. She raised her hands to his hair, then
opened her eyes, looking directly into his. His mouth covered hers,
his tongue took possession of her mouth.
The pressure inside her grew quickly. He
leaned back a little, staring into her eyes with a wicked grin on
his face as his fingers stroked her, stimulating her beyond
endurance. Her eyes closed as every muscle in her body tightened,
held, then released and pure pleasure flooded her veins. When she
cracked her eyes open she found him watching.
"You're beautiful when you're…" he started
but didn't finish. He grunted and picked up the pace, thrusting
harder until he exploded inside her, ending in a long groan.
The silence in the room was broken only by
their heavy breathing as the music had finished. She leaned into
him with a soft, sweet affectionate kiss.
"You're incredible," she muttered into his
mouth.
    "You're very…sexy… responsive," he
remarked.
"To you…to you…oh baby," she sighed, closing
her eyes.
He wound his arms around her and hugged her
to him, holding her close. He stroked her hair as her hands slid up
and down his back.
Finally he separated from her, retrieved his
boxers, then picked up her shift, and helped her put it back on.
Grey slipped into the kitchen, returning to the living room with
two steaming cups of coffee. They sat on one of the loveseats, put
their feet up on the coffee table and watched the dying fire in the
fireplace.
Carrie snuggled up and nestled her head into
his shoulder. He put his arm around her and sipped his coffee.
"You know everything about me, so let's talk
about you," she began.
"Everything? Doubt that." He stroked her
hair.
"Maybe not everything, but more than I know
about you. If you want to have a family…kids and all how come
you're not married? Have you ever been married? You're thirty-four,
right?"
"Whoa! One at a time!" He said, putting up
his hand.
"You're thirty-four and never been married?"
Carrie added more sugar to her coffee.
"Right." His hand rested on her shoulder.
"How come?" She sat up straight and looked
directly at him.
"I spent ten years working my ass off, saving
every penny, investing to get where I am now,"
    "Not an answer."
"Waiting for the right woman to come along,"
he replied.
"You haven't met her yet?" she said.
"Well…" he blushed and looked away from her,
directing his gaze at the fire.
"You haven't met her or you'd be married or
at least engaged by now, right?"
    "I guess…it's complicated."
    "I don't get it, why?"
"Trust me, it is." He directed his gaze out
the window, watching a sparrow land on a tree limb.
She shrugged. "When you meet her, you'll
know? Then you'll get married?"
"Yeah. What about you? Never married…" He
turned back to look at her.
"I didn't say that." She shifted on the sofa,
pulling away from him slightly.
"You've been married…and unmarried by the
tender age of twenty-nine?"
    She nodded.
"Want to tell me about it?" Grey threaded his
fingers through hers, his eyes sought hers.
She shook her head. "Its ancient history, was
over three years ago. Not much to tell. I married a man who decided
rather quickly he didn't want to be married. He lives in California
now," Carrie took a sip of her coffee.
"He's not going to show up on your doorstep
and beg you to take him back, is he?" A rueful smile played at his
lips.
    She laughed, "I doubt that!"
"I don't care about the past. I'm here with
you now and
