period. I usually start feeling tired, my stomach cramps, and I get headaches.”
    “Your womanly cycle?”
    “Yes.”
Ashton calmed as he asked, “Is there anything I can do?”
I giggled. “Unless you are truly a magician or a warlock, I’m going to say no.”
Ashton’s brow rose in that look he has of interested query. “A magician or warlock?”
“Yes. Besides my indecision regarding your angelic or devilish side, I have also considered you may indeed be a magician or a warlock.”
Ashton chuckled, leaning back in the dining room chair with a slight tilt to his head as he gazed at me.
    “Why would you consider such?”
“Because, you make me feel incredible,” I confessed. “I’m unsure if I can find the right words to explain.”
“Please try to explain, my dove.”
“When your amazing eyes look at me, I shudder. When you speak to me, I quake. And when you touch me…. Well let’s just say I become intimately aware of all my secret places.”
“Indeed,” he said as the corners of his sensual mouth turned up.
“Oh yes, my lord, indeed. From the very first day I met you.”
“Would you believe me if I told you I understand how you feel? I too feel the same about you? You hold some power over me, my lady.”
I arose from the table, I hoped gracefully. My silky low-cut shirt, the color of almonds, enhanced my pert nipples. Ashton’s eyes flashed. I imagine he knew the garment I was wearing afforded no bra. I slowly leaned down. Placed my hand to Ashton’s jaw. Swiped my lips across his in a sensual caress of lip against lip.
“I may believe you,” I answered.
    “Where are you going?”
“ Bath ,” I whispered across his mouth.
“Bloody Hell,” he said as I walked away. I turned to glance back at him from over my shoulder, only to catch him watching my ass.
    ****
I let out a puffing huff as I readied myself for a bath only to see it was too late. I’d started my period.
    “Cheese and crackers,” I spluttered.
I turned the faucet off, stopping the water, and gazed longingly at the claw-footed tub before I pulled the stopper. Water twirled down the drain. I griped under my breath. Stomped over to the shower. The words, no fair ran through my thoughts in a whining protest. The intrusion of my period was definitely going to put a halt to my plans of constant love making, at least for a few days, but then I considered. My mouth. His cock. So I turned my frown upside down.
I stood within the steam, allowing it to overtake my body like a thick fog. Enjoying every moment of this particular sauna-like setting. I breathed in the warm sensation before turning on the hot water to the overhead spray. When the water came on, it parted the steam, turning it into multiple swirls before dispersing. The water pelted my body, my muscles, and my face. I closed my eyes and lost myself within the music the rain shower made upon my skin as it danced over me.
The thought of Ashton, what he was doing, and wishing he was with me, replaced the sensation of the shower so I quickly finished, towel dried my curly hair, and found some baggy shorts and a pink Rainbow Bright T-shirt to wear to bed. I conditioned my curls with the honey-smelling cream, smiling to myself because I knew Amelia would be pleased I remembered. I looked down at my toes, giving a tsk. I should give myself a pedicure, but it could wait. I wanted to see Ashton.
I patted to the door of my room, opened it slowly, then very carefully peeked my head out, looking down one end of the hall then the next. I wanted to whoop once I could see the coast was clear. I took a breath then scurried across the hall. When I entered Ashton’s room I found him shirtless, in bed, and reading a book.
Ashton glanced up from overtop his book then smiled at me as if the dawn was rising.
“Nice shirt,” he said with a deep masculine chuckle.
“Uh huh,” I mumbled while sliding under the sheets, snuggling up to his side. “What are you
