the secret caverns of my body.

I was going to have my stepbrother’s baby.

“And you won’t be my sister much longer.” His hands moved over belly, pale, flat, sheened with sweat.

    “No?”

“As soon as Mom and Dad are divorced, I’m going to marry you and give that baby in your belly a father.”

    “What?” I couldn’t breathe.

“You don’t know?” Miles cocked his head, eyebrows going up. “I thought that’s why you were coming to see me. I figured you’d want to talk about the sin of their divorce and—”

    “Divorce?” I gasped.

“Your mom left my dad for another man.”

    “What man?”

“Father Walsh.” His words couldn’t have shocked me more. That smirk was back on his face and he looked at me with such glee I had to laugh. “Apparently you’re not the only Catholic tempted by the ways of the flesh.”

“Oh my God.” It was the first time I’d said the Lord’s name in vain in years. I covered my mouth with my hands. Then I laughed. We both did. “We’re all going to Hell.”

“That’s fine with me.” Miles grinned. “As long as we’re going together.”

Baby’s Big Night

Back in high school, Betsy’s date to senior prom decided he didn’t want to go with a curvy girl, and she’s never forgotten it.

Now a high school teacher, Betsy jumps at the chance to chaperone the prom—she’s determined to dress up and have a great time.

She’s both surprised and pleased when her handsome, older, rugby-playing stepbrother, Mitch, offers to be her “date” to “prom.”

Betsy’s best friend, Vanessa, is sure that Mitch has a “thing” for thick girls, and thinks his BBW stepsister is just his type.

It’s true that innocent Betsy has been saving herself for the right man to make a family with, and it appears he’s just shown up in a tux and a limo, determined to make it the best night of her life.
The only problem is—he’s her stepbrother.

Betsy had never gone to prom—but now she was finally getting the chance, and she wasn’t going to let it pass her by. She didn’t care if she hadn’t been a high-schooler for years. At one time—back in high-school—she would have cared a lot what it looked like, what her best friend, Vanessa, thought about it. And apparently, she thought it was a little crazy. But Betsy didn’t care anymore. It was something she wanted to do, and she was determined to go after what she wanted.

“Prom?” Vanessa laughed. “Did you actually say you were going to the prom this weekend?”

“I did.” Betsy crooked the cordless phone between ear and shoulder so she could put the orange juice back in the refrigerator. “Right after I get off the phone with you, I’m picking up my corsage.”

“Is this a separate prom for the teachers or something?” Vanessa had that tone in her voice that Betsy knew well, after so many years of being friends. Vanessa didn’t approve. “I didn’t know they did things like that. Is it at the same place the kids have theirs?”

“It’s not a separate prom. It’s the same one. I’m going as a chaperone. You know I never went to prom in high school, because Darren said he didn’t want to be seen with a curvy girl. It was his not-so-nice way of telling me I was too fat for him.”

“Darren Beck? I forgot all about him. He hit it big before the housing boom, didn’t he? Wait, is he the guy from our class who married that supermodel? The one who had surgery to become a man a few years later?”

“Exactly,” Betsy said. “They divorced not long after that and I heard Darren lost a lot of clients in California from the way he treated her during the whole thing”

“I’m not surprised, considering how much of a dick he was in school. So you’re really going to prom?” Vanessa sounded like she might be warming to the idea. “What do you have planned? Are you going to seduce
