foot. Maybe I’ll have Jose go down with some fishing gear so it looks like he’s fishing from the shore.”
Carrie touched Bob’s shoulder and spoke through her headset, “This is not my fantasy for giving you a blowjob. I thought we’d be able to put the plane on cruise control.”
Bob laughed, “I’ll have to plan a longer trip for that.”
Carrie noticed a building ahead. “What is that?” she asked.
“They call it El Cardonal’s Hide-Away. It’s a small place where people camp and park their RVs,” Bob explained.  “It’s almost the midpoint to Los Muertos.”  They continued on until the land terrain changed to green.
“We’re seeing the golf course of Bahia los Suenos,” commented Bob, “You can see the resort ahead. Look at all the sailboats anchored out on the bay. We need to take a closer look at those and see if there are any unmarked boats.”
“Sure looks like it would be easy to hide one right out in the open. What about that bigger boat?” Carrie said as she pointed to the largest one in the water. “Let me see if I can photograph it with my telephoto lens and we can check the registry.”
Bob brought the plane down so she could get her shot and then banked for a turn over the resort. He noticed a couple of large fishing boats stored at the back of the property. “Those boats could easily carry a dinghy like we saw the other night.”
“It’s much bigger than I expected,” Carrie admitted as Bob headed back down the coast, “It makes Jose’s place look small.”  Bob nodded in agreement, “Now, I understand why Alfredo said they wanted the airstrip. Just think how they could fly between San Diego all the way to the mainlnd.”
Shortly after they left Los Muertos behind, Bob heard the engine make a clunk sound and the alternator light came on. Bob looked at the control panels and then at Carrie. “See if you can get Dave on his cell phone,” he advised, “Something is not right here. I’m going to get lower so if I have to use a road, we can make an emergency landing.”
Carrie grabbed her cell phone and asked, “What’s his number?” She punched in the digits as Bob called them out and waited for the phone to ring. “I hope he’s not asleep, yet,” she said letting out a breath to calm down. When his phone when to voicemail, she hung up and said, “Let’s try the front desk. We’ll send someone to his room.” She dialed again as Bob called out the numbers and waited as the phone rang.  Pedro answered and Carrie got his attention immediately. “We have an emergency, Pedro.  You must go to Dave’s room. Knock on the door to wake him. Take a key so you can open the door if you need to. I must speak with Dave right away. Have him call Bob’s cell phone. Something is wrong with the plane.”
Bob was focused on finding the road that led to El Cardonal. He knew it would make an adequate landing strip.  Scanning the panels again he noticed the plane was losing electrical power. If it went out, he wouldn’t be able to navigate or communicate. The safest decision was to land before the situation got worse.
He turned to tell Carrie his plan and noticed she was sitting with her eyes closed and her hands wrapped around both of their phones. Reaching out he touched her shoulder, “We’re going to be OK, Carrie, I can land the plane in the next few minutes. We’ll have Dave meet us at El Cardonal and bring a toolkit. It’s probably an alternator problem.”
She let out a long breath and tried to smile, “This is more excitement than I had planned today,” she deadpanned. Bob’s phone vibrated in her hand and she held it up, “Do you want to speak with him, or should I?”
Taking the phone, Bob pulled off his headset and answered it, “Dave, the alternator light came back on, and I’m losing battery power…  How far out am I?” he repeated Dave’s question. “We’re approaching El Cardonal, maybe ten minutes from the landing strip .. What sound
