great couple.  Josh never did come back over and socialize with us, when we left he was nowhere to be found so Derrick text him to make sure he was okay.  He got a text back letting him know he was fine that he had left because he was bored.  Derrick and I exchanged phone numbers earlier in the night, even though we lived in the same building he said he wanted me to be able to call him if I ever needed him or if I was ever bored.
Steve and Bryce waved from the taxi they were in and we waved from ours, about forty five minutes later we were all back at our apartment building.  William and Destiney no doubt had plans for the night, hopefully I wouldn’t have to listen to what they were going to be doing.  Derrick kissed me before he got off the elevator, “I’ll text you soon.” He told me.
The elevator doors closed, William and Destiney were both standing there staring at me.  “What?” I asked with a smile.
“If you are the woman to tame THAT guy I swear to god I will kiss your feet.” Destiney told me and leaned against William.  He wrapped his arms around her and kissed the top of her head.
“He’s a good guy, I’ve never seen him turn ANY woman away at the club.  Give the guy a chance to prove himself, don’t just turn him away because Destiney doesn’t like him.”
“You guys need to just chill out, I’m sure what happened tonight was a combo of the booze and the music.  He’s way out of my league I think.” I told them both.
Destiney rolled her eyes, “You make me so fucking mad, you know that?  Just because Carter didn’t see what we all see doesn’t mean that ALL guys are stupid like that.  You’re hot, deal with it.  If anything, YOU are out of Derrick ’s league.”
William laughed, “I agree, but just give the guy a chance, see what happens.”
The elevator doors opened and we walked into our apartment, Destiney and William hugged me before they disappeared to her bedroom.  I went into my bathroom, washed my makeup off, brushed my hair out, brushed my teeth, and stared at myself in the mirror.  My sky blue eyes looked like they were shining a little brighter and my smile was bigger.  I walked out of my bedroom, stripped my clothes off, put shoes in the closet then put on my boxers and a t-shirt to sleep in on.  When I plugged my cell phone in and laid it on the night stand beside the bed it chimed with a new message.
    D:   Night beautiful 
    L:   Night sexy man!!
D:   I’m not even tired!  I keep replaying our kiss over and over in my head.
L:   Admit it, you liked teasing me!
D: HA!  I had to take a LONG shower if that tells you how much I enjoyed teasing you.
    I smiled at that text.
L:   So…yeah, I have no come back for that.  LOL!
D:  Promise to at least give me a chance, I’ve been in 2 serious relationships.  I won’t lie, I cheated on my girlfriend in the first one that was 4yrs long.  The second one, well…she’s the exact reason I wouldn’t invite you to my place tonight.
I read that message a couple of times, lightly chewing on my nail trying to figure out what he was talking about.
L:   What happened?  I’ve had one serious relationship, nothing happened between us he grew frustrated w/ me that I wouldn’t put out.  Come to find out he cheated on me anyways.
D:   Well he’s a fucking idiot.  I’ll try to make this a short as I can.  I met her my freshman year at Columbia.  She was just as innocent as you, except her dad was a pastor so she seemed to be “enjoying” her new found life away from home.  We had sex, I took her virginity, everything was going great then six months later I found her in bed with the quarter back of the football team.  I thought we actually loved each other, I never once thought of cheating on her.  She told me that she just wanted to “Explore” her options and not be tied down.
    L:  Wow, I don’t really know what to say…
D:  I know it doesn’t sound right that I’m waiting
