for hurting her. Then thank them for being the assholes that sent her to find him. He wanted to protect her. Hell, who was he kidding? He just wanted her. The minute she’d dropped her guard and came apart in his arms he’d known.
    And there was his dilemma.
One night, she’d said. We’ll just see about that.
He went to the basket on the nightstand, grabbing several condoms and shoving them into his pocket.
As he descended the stairs, he found himself hoping Amanda was a coffee drinker. He wasn’t sure he could make it through what remained of the day without a blast of caffeine. The smell of bacon drew him toward the kitchen. Amanda was dressed in his black T-shirt and from the looks of it, nothing else. He admired the long, tanned legs that disappeared beneath the hem of his shirt. Damn, she was sexy … and alone. No sign of her brothers.
“Come on, Amanda. I’m dying here,” a female voice moaned from a speakerphone. “Give me something. Is he hot? He is, isn’t he? Is he hung?” Her questions came like the rapid-fire of a machine gun.
Amanda laughed. “He’s amazing, Sam. That’s all I’m going to say so you can save your breath.”
Joe was startled. He’d never been called amazing before. Well, at least not that he knew of, anyway. Hearing it from Amanda’s lips suddenly made him feel ten feet tall.
Sam evidently wouldn’t give up. “He’s gorgeous, right? That’s why you’re being so secretive.”
    Amanda only hummed in response.
“Hold on.” Sam sounded instantly suspicious. “I know that tone.”
“What tone? I didn’t even say anything.”
“It’s what you aren’t saying, Amanda.”
“Stop worrying. It was fun. That’s all.”
Joe snorted, sensing the lie in that statement. It was a helluva lot more than fun.
“Uh-huh, right. So where is he now? Is he still there?”
“He’s in the room,” he mumbled as he walked over and wrapped his arms around Amanda’s waist. He leaned in to nuzzle her neck. “Good morning, ladies,” he drawled.
Amanda sank back into his chest and looked up at him. “Mmm,” she purred, “good morning.”
He nipped playfully at her earlobe. “Where are the others?”
“Gone. They had to get back.”
Joe nuzzled her hair. “Hmm, that’s a damn shame.”
“Oh my God. Is that him?” Sam demanded from the speakerphone.
    “It’s him,” Joe said dramatically.
“Holy shit,” she groaned, “I could come from just hearing your voice. Say something else!”
    “Samantha!” Amanda shrieked.
“Samantha, huh?” He kissed a path down Amanda’s exposed neck. “Seems I owe you a debt of gratitude, Samantha. The gift basket was … let’s just say … handy.” He loved how Amanda automatically tilted her head, giving him greater access. He sank his teeth into the pulse point at the base of her neck. Amanda gasped as he laved over the mark with his tongue.
    Silence from the speakerphone.
“You’re making breakfast.” His hands caressed her bare ass and she arched into him.
“I thought you may be hungry after … well … you know.” Amanda’s cheeks turned a bright pink.
“If you’re gonna do it,” he teased at her ear, “you might as well be able to say it. Has daylight made you shy, Mandy?” His hand moved under the shirt. He caressed her flat belly before moving toward her breasts. He teased the curves with his fingertips. “Come on, say it,” he coaxed. “After I fucked you silly.” He kept his voice low, intimate. He slipped a hand between her thighs. He found her pussy wet and ready for him.
“Holy fuck,” came a breathy voice from the phone.
Amanda fumbled for her phone. “I’m gonna have to call you back, Sam.” She hung up without waiting to hear her reply. She turned in Joe’s arms and gave him a seductive smile. “Are you hungry?”
“Starving.” He reached behind her and turned off the stove. He bent down and scooped her over his shoulder.
“Joe!” Amanda laughed as she struggled to get
