run on my own.â
Big Rock frowned.
âMeditate?â he repeated, puzzled.
âI get in touch with my inner troll,â said Hunk. âIs that okay with you?â
âSure,â nodded Big Rock.
âCool,â said Hunk. âIâll see you at the ring in an hour.â
With that, Hunk set off, his big troll feet pounding away on the grass. Big Rock watched him go.
âHe meditate,â he told Milo and Jack.
âSo we heard,â said Milo.
Big Rock frowned.
âWhat means meditate?â he asked.
âIt means ⦠er ⦠thinking,â said Milo. âDeep thinking.â
âAh,â nodded Big Rock.
He stood there, silent, for a few seconds, then announced: âI done thinking. Now I go and practise and get ready.â
And with that, the huge troll started going through some moves to limber up, while Milo and Jack watched.
âWhat do you think?â whispered Milo to Jack.
âI think we wait and see how Hunk does in the ring,â said Jack.
âMeditation run!â scoffed a voice beside them.
They turned and saw that Robin had joined them.
âYou heard all that?â asked Milo.
âOf course,â said Robin. âThe manâs a poser!â
âHey!â called a voice.
They turned and saw Sam Dent and Princess Ava heading towards them.
âWhatâs this I hear about a match between Big Rock and Hunk?â asked Ava. âHunk just told us about it. Is he making it up?â
âItâs true,â said Jack. âTheyâre going into the ring together as soon as Hunk gets back from his practice run.â
âThis I have to see!â said Ava eagerly. âWe were about to head back to Weevil, but when we heard about this â¦â
âNot to be missed!â nodded Sam in agreement.
âAt least weâll find out whether Hunk is a real wrestler or a fake,â Milo muttered to Jack.
Inside the Town Hall, Jack and the gang watched as Big Rock did press-ups and generally limbered up. A few of the townspeople had wandered in, curious to see this unofficial extra bout. As word spread, Jack noticed even more people arriving and grabbing a seat.
The only person not there was Hunk.
Milo looked at his watch.
âHunk should be here by now,â he said.
Robin snorted. âHeâs chickened out,â he said. âLike I said, heâs just a poser. I bet heâs never wrestled.â
The sound of the door opening made them all look round, and they saw Hunk appear. He had an apologetic smile on his face. His left arm was in a sling.
âHi, guys!â he said as he walked down the aisle and joined them. He gestured at the sling on his arm. âIt looks like the match is off, Iâm afraid. I injured my arm.â
âWhile meditating?â asked Robin, a sarcastic note in his voice.
âStopping a runaway horse,â said Hunk. âIt had a small child on its back and it was out of control, so I jumped in its path and pulled it to a halt.â He gave a sigh. âUnfortunately, I wrenched my arm doing it.â
âThat was a very brave thing to do,â said Jack.
Hunk shrugged.
âIt was nothing,â he said. âItâs just unfortunate that I canât go into the ring with Big Rock until my injured arm gets better.â
âNot to worry,â said Big Rock. âAccidents happen. You join us anyway. We still be tag team.â
âEr â¦â said Milo cautiously. âItâs not that easy, Big Rock.â
âWhy?â demanded Big Rock.
âWe need to see Hunk actually
wrestle
,â said Milo.
âBut he canât,â said Big Rock. âHe hurt arm saving small child from runaway horse!â
âYes, well â¦â began Milo awkwardly.
âYou donât believe me,â sighed Hunk.
âI never said that!â defended Milo.
âYou didnât need to,â said Hunk. He gave a
