extravagant headboard of the bed, complete with cuffs and a chain attached to the middle of it. Before she could get her bearings, Aaron threw her against the bedroom door, seizing her lips with his.
Opening herself up to him, Alison tapped into the mindset of a sub—like the ones she’d read about in books. She couldn’t ignore the fact that she’d wanted that kind of life for the better part of a year. Her body shuddered, and she jumped when Aaron roughly pressed her shoulders against the cold door, prising her legs apart with his knee. Alison gasped for breath when he finally pulled away.
“Are you sure this is what you want?” Aaron asked, his eyes not nearly as fierce in the bedroom as she’d expected.
Alison cocked an eyebrow. “A Dom concerned about his sub?” It was unheard of! In all the books she’d read, the Doms acted like feral animals.
“Don’t you worry, my pet, I can be rough when I want to be. However, you are new to this, and I’ve only given you a taste of what I will become. So, I ask again, are you sure this is what you want?”
Alison curled her toes as butterfly wings brushed against the insides of her stomach. She averted her eyes and drew in a deep breath. “Yes, Sir.”
Without another word, Aaron led her over to the bed and hoisted her onto the bedspread, her head nearly touching the headboard. He worked quickly, straddling her legs while he wrapped the cuffs around her hands.
They were leather, she noticed, but instead of snaps, belt buckles or Velcro like she’d read about in her books, Aaron fastened her cuffs with a strong form of twine. The chains above her head clanged together whenever she tried to move, causing her to tremble anxiously.
Alison’s gaze hovered over his pants. She was disappointed to find them still fastened, but also curious as to what was waiting for her once they had been removed. She whimpered, making sure to keep her eyes away from Aaron’s face. If she fell into his eyes, she’d become more than his sub, and that wasn’t acceptable—especially not on the first date.
Alison twisted her head from one side to the other when Aaron pulled away, the mattress decompressing beneath her. She craned her neck when she heard something jingling, followed by a click. Aaron dug through a chest of mysteries and placed a handful of items at the foot of the bed where she couldn’t see them.
Her eyes went wide when she felt him crawling back up beside her, and now she did look at his face.
“We’ll take it slow,” Aaron assured her, “and when I feel you are ready, we will take things a little further. Do you have a safe word?”
Alison canted her head to one side. “Sir?”
“Not all Doms are as terrible as you might think. A good Dom takes care of his subs. I make sure my subs are comfortable at all times. Because of this, I need you to pick a safe word.”
Alison shook her head. If she was going to be his sub, she wanted to do the best she could. She wouldn’t let herself get distracted with a word she could blurt out whenever she wanted. If she let her mind take over for even a second, her first night as a sub would be over before it began.
“No?” He cocked an eyebrow. “Well, even if you feel comfortable without one, I don’t. With that in mind, use ‘red’ if you feel uneasy or need me to stop.”
Aaron gave her an admiring glance, tracing the curves of her breasts, her hips, and finally, the insides of her thighs with his hands. Still fully clothed, Alison quivered under his touch, which she so desperately wanted to feel on her bare skin. As if he could read her mind, Aaron leaned over her, unfastening her jeans before removing them.
He said something under his breath as he left a trail of kisses from her navel to the buttons on her blouse. Aaron unfastened them one by one, smiling each time her body jumped, as if delighting in her open desires.
Alison clenched her teeth and swallowed her words. Her body begged to be taken, to feel
