through
their hair as they took in the tall green plants and trees dotting the hills.
Jamaica was blessed with rich vegetation and colorful plants. Ari admired the
mountainous swells and the miles of greenery as they drove by.
“Please tell me that you’ve been to Dunn’s
River Falls before.” Christian turned to her before fixing his eyes on the
road.
“Why?” she asked as she clutched her sun
hat as the wind whipped about her hair. She sported her sunglasses but could
still appreciate the blueness of the cloudless sky and the bright sun as they
drove.
“Because, you can’t be in Jamaica and not
go to Dunn’s River. That would just be crazy. And it would tell me that you’ve
been working way too hard to enjoy yourself.”
The Dunn’s River Falls were one of the most
breathtaking tourist spots and highlights of visiting Jamaica. An angelic place
anyone should visit before leaving this earthly plane. A “must-do” fun
activity! Who hadn’t been there? Tens of thousands of visitors flocked to the
site every week. Although there was a small beach at the base of the falls,
climbing the massive boulders on the falls was one of the best parts. Arianna couldn’t
wait to climb with Christian while the cool running water gushed down on their
skin.
“That’s just it. A lot of people who live
close to landmarks don’t always visit because they take for granted that they will
always be there.”
“True,” he concurred. “But that’s still no
excuse.” His boyish grin always melted her inside and his cute dimple was
adorable. Oh, his sexy dimpled cheek when he was happy got her every time.
“Okay. I’ve been once. A long time ago.”
“Well, we’re going together as a couple.
And you’re really going to have a time to remember.”
“I can’t wait.”
The Satellite radio played some classic
R&B tunes. The current song playing was “One Hundred Ways,” a sensual,
memorable ballad from Grammy award winning singer, James Ingram.
“Oh, I love that song!” Arianna reached for the controls and cranked up the volume. “That
guy can sure sing. Dad used to play that tune in the house when I was younger.”
“Love her today, find one hundred ways,”
Christian sang out the lyrics, a little out of tune, but sexy as hell. His
voice was so deep, soft and sensual.
“Ask her to stay, find one hundred ways,”
he grinned as he continued to sing. He looked so handsome sporting his Ray-Ban
shades over his eyes. His dark, short, silky hair tossed from the breezy
hillside drive.
“Hey, I just noticed, you never commented
on my singing,” Christian teased her.
“Well, I didn’t want to spoil the fun we’re
having, you know.” Ari winked.
Christian gave her a mock eye roll and
chuckled.
“I’m teasing, hon, you’re hot!”
“Yeah, whatever.” He broke out into a wide
grin. “I love you, you know that?”
“Love you, too, baby,” she cooed beside
him. She leaned over and planted a warm kiss on his cheek. “Okay, now I don’t
want to distract you from driving. You have to watch those turns on these
hills.”
“Yeah, I think I have enough experience to
know that, darling.”
Arianna felt alive for the first time in
such a long while. Her stomach caved in for a moment. Oh, my God! I almost gave this up. I almost gave up being with
Christian. What was I thinking? What was I on?
She loved the way Christian made her feel. Arianna
always enjoyed his warmth, his connection, his crazy-ass laughter and bad singing.
God, there wasn’t anything about Christian she did not love. She was so
grateful to the universe that he had showed up at Blue’s door when he did.
Arianna was so elated that Christian hadn’t
given up on connecting with her, even though she kept her distance during the
past month, vowing to never see him or get too close to him. She would give
anything for this moment. She would give anything to turn back the hands of
time. Just to think that she had hurt him. She hurt this
