Aiden tasted good. Like salty pineapple. Let him sleep, Lane ordered as his cock started to become more insistent.
After they dried off, Lane pushed Aiden into his bed. Aiden became very still as he stared up at the ceiling. It took Lane a while to realize that Aiden didn’t know what he was supposed to do.
“Do you need to run?” Lane asked gently. He felt Aiden shake his head and roll toward him.
“No. I’m good. No restlessness.” He murmured. Lane laughed softly as he reached for Aiden.
“Good. Go to sleep.” He said as he settled Aiden’s head on his chest and wrapped his arm around him. Aiden’s body felt tense against Lane’s.
“I’ve never slept with anyone, Lane.” He whispered shakily. Lane nodded.
“I haven’t in along time. Do you want to go back to your room? You don’t have to stay, if you’re uncomfortable.” He said softly. For some reason, Lane held his breath.
“No. I’ll stay.” Aiden said. Lane was surprised when he sighed in relief and began to sift his hand through Aiden’s hair. He felt Aiden relax and his body slowly melted against Lane’s.
Lane drifted in and out of sleep and Aiden’s body slowly untangled and separated from his as the hours fell away until Aiden was on the other side of the bed with his back to Lane. Against his better judgement, Lane scooted close behind Aiden and wrapped his body around him. Lane pressed a gentle kiss to Aiden’s neck and grinned like an idiot when Aiden grabbed his arm and pulled it tight around him as he sighed Lane’s name in his sleep.
Lane worried that he didn’t know what he was getting into with Aiden. There was a whisper in the back of Lane's brain that said this wasn’t the sort of thing that could happen for just a week or the sort of thing that could just idle comfortably like his arrangement with Cabbot or Aiden’s with Sloan. Fuck, I hate that guy, Lane decided irrationally. Lane warned himself that he needed to be careful and think it through before things went too far. But he knew it was too late. It was inevitable. There was no way he’d stop Aiden the next time he slipped into one of his sex personas. Lane learned just how incapable he was of resisting in the living room. He didn’t stand a chance. All Aiden had to do was whisper in Lane’s ear and his clothes just fell off. Boom. Naked and begging until his throat was raw. If it hadn’t been for the jarring cold of the glass at his back, Lane might have fainted.
It was Aiden’s eyes that made Lane pause. Everything was in Aiden’s eyes. The way they were huge and vulnerable before he asked for a grilled cheese sandwich or when Lane forced him to eat chicken with a godforsaken sauce on it. He looked like a Disney character. They would go blank and long when someone used a piece of slang Aiden didn’t know or when Lane compared him to a toddler, like a robot that received the wrong input. Or, they’d smolder and get heavy when he was about to wipe every thought from Lane’s brain and make his cock hurt.
Aiden was a level of complicated that Lane had never encountered. Hell, he spent most of his life avoiding complicated. Lane’s career was based on the messes people made by making their lives unnecessarily complicated by losing their minds in the heat of the moment or doing stupid shit. As Lane sat on his sofa, naked and wrung out from the hardest orgasm he’d had in years, drinking sex in a glass, he knew he wasn’t going to be able to just go back to his life as if Aiden had never happened once he left. It was going to get complicated and it was probably going to hurt like hell. But, as if to prove how weak he was, Lane followed his cock and Aiden into the shower and then pushed Aiden into his bed.
Fuck it. Lane decided and rolled Aiden onto his stomach as he rose over him. Lane braced his hands outside of Aiden’s chest and licked his shoulder blade. Aiden moaned softly as Lane traced his spine with his tongue on his way down Aiden’s body.
