huh?”

Tasha bit her lip. She should have known better. “Yeah. Congratulations I guess.”

“So when can I see you? I am dying without you and you don’t live here anymore. Where are you?”

She told him the name of the town. “I'm surprised that you don’t already know.”

“It is not from lack of trying. I wanted to give you some space. I didn’t want you getting dragged into anymore of my drama. It has been four months, Tasha, and I need you.”

A shiver ran down her spine. “Well I have a day off this weekend.”

“I'm not going to wait that long. Find a babysitter and I will be there in an hour.”

She paused for a moment, not really sure what to say. “Um…okay.”

    “I love you, Tasha.”

Tasha stood with the phone going dead. She looked at the lit up screen and he was gone. Her heart pounded in her chest and she called Angie. Angie agreed to take Jonell a few hours or the rest of the night if everything went the way she hoped it did. Tasha had a secret that she had been keeping from everyone for months and it was getting harder to hide it. There was nervousness in her, but more so, anticipation. She had missed him more than she could imagine and even after her lack of faith in him, he did not seem to lose it in her.

She took her time in the shower and was not but half-dressed when she heard a knock on the door. Cursing, she stalled him with a holler and pulled the dress on that she had picked out. She knew what he liked and she really hoped that he liked her in it. She smoothed the creasing in her skirt and then the stray strands she noticed in the mirror as she passed by towards the door. She took a deep breath and opened the door.

    “Hi.”

Demitri’s eyes held hers for a moment and then he was through the door. Pushing it shut with his foot, Demitri took her into her arms, his lips pressing against hers. It was what he had been waiting for and she tasted as good as he remembered. He had not been with anyone since her and it had been so long ago, it almost felt like a dream.

Tasha pulled away and asked him if he wanted a drink. Her body was ready, but she was not. He was still as overwhelming as ever, but there were things that had to be said before they went any further. Demitri did not like the space in between them and he moved closer, leaning towards her and pinning her against the counter. Tasha moved away and went to her kitchen.

Her hands trembled as she poured him a shot of his own vodka. Then she poured a little more into the glass and handed it to him. Sliding it across the bar, she kept it between them. He took a quick drink and then set the glass back down. Tasha refilled it and looked down, trying to find the way to say it.

    “What is it, Tasha?”

“I have something to say and I don’t know how you are going to react to it, so it makes me nervous.”

“Well whatever it is, just spit it out. I haven’t seen you in months and I really want to get to the next part of this evening.” His eyes had not left her body since she opened the door. Her breasts seemed fuller and she was even curvier than she was before. Tasha just had an ethereal glow about her and he chalked it up to his growing need. He couldn’t imagine being upset with anything she had to say; as long as it wasn’t that she didn’t want to see him again, he would be fine with it.

She smiled and he was lost. Her breasts swayed and then she leaned against the counter. The plunging neckline showed more of her as she looked up at him, hesitating. She laughed. “Wow, this is hard.”

His large hand covered hers and he rubbed her with his thumb. The reaction was soothing and she finally met his bright blue eyes. His chiseled jaw was tight. He sensed that something was bothering her and he was trying to prepare himself to not react to it. “Just tell me, Tosh.”

    “Demitri, I’m pregnant.”

His hand stilled on her hand,
