miserably  give me the outdoors any day he murmured to himself.
At last the click of the door catch and the soft politeness of Jo’s voice echoed in the corridor.
Her face appeared radiant and the sparkle in those sapphire eyes talked louder than any words.

Six Thirty Monday morning Jo retraced her steps taking the same route to the Macaba. She relished the thought of her new Job.
Never before had she done any reception work, the only kind of employment had been her short spell at the canning factory, and her time in Betsy’s diner, she sighed recalling those happy times.
Taking the staff entrance she made her way to the cloak room, she had been informed a Miss Stark would be there to give her a guided tour and lead her through all the formalities.
Gillian Stark was a good five inches taller than Jo well composed, with all the graces of a well to do Woman.
Jo soon realized she had also a good sense of humour, as they toured the forty six floors by Elevators stopping at all the major function rooms were receptionist and cloakroom attendants obliged their clientele. Jo had never seen a building so grand, Gillian had informed her she would be located at the main reception, her excitement grew by the minute, they had toured shops that were located on three different floors, conference halls board rooms luxury swimming pools with sauna and gym. Now she was being escorted back to the main entrance where Gillian had pointed out she would learn all the tricks of the trade.
Miss Stark with all her airs and graces Jo found to be a friendly character, though very inquisitive, their seemed very little She had not been compelled to tell her, when it came to bank details even, Brandon had emerged to the surface, Gillian had listened quite sympathetically, she had even informed her to accept accommodation which came with the job in special circumstances and in Jo’s case she could see no reason for anyone too object, especially has her Father was one of the major shareholders.
Jo felt consolation at last; Ben would feel free to conquer his own ambitions.
Gillian had promised to keep her informed before her shift ended at three. She had not been allowed to do anything on her own initiative though she had learned all about the guest books, the regular
Clients and the ones that had confirmed their short stay visits, and most of all she had learned to be most courteous at all times, Jo smiled recalling where she had heard that saying before.
Ben waited casually at the staff entrance glancing at his watch almost three thirty; he smiled pushing back the golden locks that fell across his forehead as he heard Jo in casual conversation emerging through the door.
She was delighted to see him waiting; there was so much she wanted to tell him.
“Hey take it easy,” he laughed, as the words just flowed without a break recalling the day’s events, her dark locks blowing in the cool autumn breeze, she appeared radiant vibrant in every sense of the word, with her arm resting comfortably in his they strolled towards Chinatown taking in the bright vivid colours, Ben observed  the unusual names given to the alleyways, He directed Jo’s attention to Hang Ah alley, they passed through Dragon Gate on Grants avenue at Bush St. started the steep climb up the hill, the pungent aroma of spices and herbs filled their  nostrils causing Bens stomach too grumble at the lack of something tasty.
Jo smiled in agreement as he escorted her through the large green doorway of the Chinese
restaur ant, taking a seat at the bar as they waited to be directed to their table ,the service was excellent  the atmosphere relaxing just what she needed to break the news of her good fortune in finding somewhere to live.
