already.”
“What is twenty four from fifty?”
“Twenty six.” She said without hesitation.
“It seems you can add arithmetic to that list.”
“This is so frustrating.” She growled rubbing her eyes. “It’s all in there I just don’t know how to get it out!”
“Hey,” He put his hand on her arm and leaned towards her just a bit, “Angie, don’t force it, it will come to you eventually.”   She dropped her hands and looked into his eyes.
“What if it doesn’t? What if I never remember who I am?”
“Then you just decide who you want to be and move on from now.” He said softly looking into her eyes.
“That is easy for you to say, you’ve known who you wanted to be since you were ten.  How does one just decide something like that?” She asked frowning. He smiled and she felt her heart race, he was so close, he was touching her arm and she could feel it all the way to her fingertips.
    “You find your bliss.”
“My what?”  He was too close for her to think, his face was only inches from hers, her eyes dropped to his lips as he spoke.
“Your bliss. You find the thing that makes you happy, that makes you feel whole. When you find it you’ll know it in your heart.” Luke spoke softly, she was looking at his lips and he felt as if he was being pulled towards her.
“My heart.” She said softly. “My heart,” said again more forcefully and sat up straight. “Follow your heart, let your heart be your guide and you’ll never be lost.” She reached under her shirt and pulled out her locket and popped it open. “My mother said that.” She whispered.
    “You remembered?” He asked surprised.
“That’s all I can remember, I can’t even remember her name, whether or not she is Angel.” Her eyes filled with tears as she stared at the picture that she wasn’t sure was her mother. She looked up into Luke’s eyes and she thought they almost looked sympathetic. “Luke, if I don’t remember I’ll never have anyone, no family nowhere to call home.” He put his arm around her shoulders and pulled her against him. She laid her head against his chest and squeezed her eyes shut trying to push back the threatening tears.
“You‘ll still have a bunch of over protective cowboys and Ella who thinks she is everyone’s mother.” He said softly to the top of her head.
“Luke, I appreciate so much everything that you have done for me, but I am sure you didn’t mean for it to be permanent when you took me in.”
“Angie,” he said attempting to match her tone. “You are welcome to stay for as long as you want.” She sat up so she could look into his eyes, she could see that he meant it.
    “Thank you.” She said softly.
“Yeah, well um, we should probably get that little critter back to the barn” He said clearing his throat awkwardly.
“Yeah we really should.”  She jumped to her feet trying to cover the hot blush that was creeping up her neck.
Luke was preoccupied on the way back, he couldn’t stop thinking about how cl ose he had come to kissing her he certainly hadn’t intended to.  He hadn’t intended to tell her she could stay as long as she wanted either but he meant it. The more he got to know her the more he knew he couldn’t just turn her over to the sheriff and walk away.
Luke was surprised to find Tom in the yard when they rode up.
    “Storm brewing, boss.”
    “Bad one?”
    “Yeah.”
“Alright let’s move the herd.” Angelica looked at the sky feeling slightly dumbfounded the sky was clear and blue, the only clouds were a few puffy white clouds in the distance.
“I don’t understand,” she said when Tom walked away. “How does he know?” Luke grinned.
“I don’t know how he does it but he’s never wrong so you should probably get her all tucked in for the night.”

The herd was easy to move since it wasn’t raining yet, and it wasn’t dark. Luke looked up at the sky, it was still clear and blue.
    “Tom, this isn’t some sort
