athletic. He does leaps so high and hangs in the air so long you’d think he had wings. We have to work harder to get the emotion out of him, but he’s a brilliant dancer just the same.”
Val asked Tobi and Meg, “Is there any way to get tickets to this showcase you’re doing in a few weeks, or is it invitation only?”
“Sure. If you want to come I’ll arrange to have some for you to pick up,” Meg answered.
“Oh, I want some too,” Trish and Beth chimed in at once.
“You’ll all come as my guests.”
“Oh, no,” Trish cried. “Of course we’ll pay for the tickets. We’ll want to bring the guys with us.”
“No you won’t. Just let me know who all wants to come. I can set aside a pair of tickets for each of you.” Meg added doubtfully, “Do you really think the guys will want to come?”
“Of course they will. I’m sure Trace will be there to see you and Sean dance,” Trish said.
“I don’t know. We haven’t talked about it.” Meg wondered if that were true—that Trace would be interested in seeing her dance.
She looked over at Kelli. “Kelli, would you like some tickets too? You won’t hurt my feelings if you don’t.”
“O-Oh yes! You’d really get me tickets too? I don’t even know if Charley and I will still be dating or not.”
“It doesn’t matter. You can bring Charley or anyone else you’d like. I’ll set some aside for you.”
Kelli beamed at her. “Thank you so much.”
    “You’re welcome.”

The game was over and everyone was saying their goodbyes and going their separate ways. Trace escorted Meg out the door to the parking lot.
“Can you give me a lift home? Tobi followed me home and I left my car there and rode over with her.” It was windy out and Meg brushed her hair away from her face.
    “Sure!”
They waved to some of their friends as they walked across the lot to Trace’s Jeep. Meg looked over and saw Tobi and Sonny leaning against her car deep in conversation. “Wonder what’s going on there?” After a pause she asked, “How is Sonny with computers?”
Trace looked a little confused. “He’s a whiz with computers. Why do you ask?”
Meg laughed. “No reason. Never mind.”
“If you’re having trouble with your laptop I can take a look at it for you.”
She just laughed harder. “No, my computer’s fine. It’s just a little inside joke between Tobi and me. Just forget it.”
Trace shook his head, opened the car door and helped her inside. He swung around the front of the Jeep and jumped into the driver’s seat. “Did you have a good time tonight?”
“I had a great time. As I said before—those are some great girls.”
As they pulled out of the lot he looked over at her. “Sorry if I ignored you. I should have paid more attention to you. Some first date, huh?”
“Oh, this wasn’t our first date.”
    “It wasn’t?”
    “No, this was just a ‘getting-to-know-you-through-your-friends get-together.’”
Trace laughed. “That’s a new one. I’ve never heard of that one before.”
“Well, be that as it may, I liked what I got to know about you through your friends. Granted I didn’t have much of a chance to talk to the guys, but you can learn a lot about a guy by the woman he has in his life. And I like all of them .”
“I liked your friends too. Tobi is a trip. And Kai and Scott seemed to fit right in.”
“I have a small issue with your friend, Charley, though. I take it he doesn’t keep women around for very long.” She looked over at him.
“Not usually. He plays the field a lot. He’s pretty up front about that with them, though.”
“Okay. I just want you and him to know that even if he doesn’t keep Kelli around for long, we girls just might. She’s a sweetheart.”
“Duly noted. I’ll let him know.” They drove in silence for a few blocks. “Well, since this wasn’t our first date I’m hoping you’ll agree to go
