late. He winced
but kept on watching as she drank him dry, amazed that she would do such a
thing. Semen leaked from the corner of her lips, the drops soon splashing on
the sheet underneath him.
She finally drew back and licked her lips
before moving to lie on her back beside him. “So, did you enjoy your wake-up
call?” She moved onto her elbow and smiled at him.
“It was amazing,” he truthfully replied,
pulling her to him so she could snuggle against his side.
He exhaled happily. Funny how having her
close like this could make his heart slow down. It was as if with just her
presence, his mind and body knew that everything was right in the world. She
brought peace and quiet to his otherwise manic life. He thought of the days to
come and smiled at the ceiling. She’d be busy with the final part of her
translation, but he’d make sure her nights would be free.
He’d have whole days to plan. He knew what he
needed to do now: he was going to seduce her so she’d never leave.
    Ever.
    Again.

    Chapter Twelve

“Stand inside the Circle and repeat the
following words…”
    Ambrotos (Translation by Jessica James)

Jessica looked up from her notepad and
frowned when she noticed what Drake was doing. “Need help?”
    He grunted. “No.”
“Right, then.” She kept on watching however
as he struggled to get a mattress through the library doors. It was a thick
padded one, and even if he was heavily muscled, it took him a good ten minutes
to get it inside.
“Hell.” He pushed the mattress against the
nearest wall and wiped his brow. “This thing sure is heavier than it looks.”
“What are you doing?” she couldn’t help but
ask. She nearly stood up to go to him then remembered she was supposed to be
working. Dang .
“I thought this place needed a little
redecoration.”
    “So, you bought a mattress?”
“Yes. And a few other things too. Don’t worry
about me. I know what I’m doing.”
She took this to mean he’d show her his
purchases later. Taking the hint, she blew him a kiss and grabbed her
dictionary, wondering whether that last word finished with –os or –on. The
parchment was so old it wasn’t very clear but logically it had to be the first
option.

It was a good hour later when she looked up
again. She blinked at the surreal décor that had suddenly popped up around her.
“Drake?” she asked, craning her neck. Where the hell was he?
“I’m here, honey.” He appeared in a corner of
the room as if by magic. “Are you ready for a break?”
“Yeah.” She stood up and stretched her arms
over her head, feeling her vertebrae crack at the movement. “Ouch.”
“You okay?” Drake came to stand behind her,
his palms finding her nape. “Want a massage?”
    “Oh. Could I?”
He laughed at her eager tone. “Sure. Come,
I’ll show you what I’ve done first.” He grabbed her hand and led her toward the
back of the room. “What do you think?”
She blinked, but no, the image did remain
when she opened her eyes once again. “Wow.”
    He laughed. “Like it?”
    “It’s… It’s amazing, Drake.”
“I know.” He sounded so proud of himself she
couldn’t help but grin. “That way, every time you need a break, you can come
here and rest.”
“Rest, huh?” She sent him a quick look.
“Well, you know what I mean.”
She laughed. “Oh, I’m sure I do.” Unable to
resist this new playful Guardian, she looped her arms around his neck and
pulled his head down for a kiss. He groaned into her mouth and pulled her tight
against his body, letting her know he was ready. Like that was news! She
thought with a gleeful thrust of her hips.
He made her lie down on the silk-covered
mattress, a sigh escaping her parted lips when he divested her of her top and
bra with gentle fingers. The sheet was cool underneath her, her nipples
crinkling from a combination of her cold surroundings and his caresses. He was
true to his word, massaging her achy muscles, from her
