should feel bad for him too. It's kind of your fault, but not really.”
    “What do you mean?”
Meeka felt like it was all her fault.
“I mean, do you know how in love that man is with you? He told the cops everything. Love is crazy and makes people do crazy things, and I know that I would do anything to keep you. He also told them that nothing had happened since that one time while we were split up.”
“Well I told you the truth, though I wish I would have just walked away when I saw him. I knew that you would be upset and I just shouldn’t have done it. I'm sorry, Rick. I never meant for any of this to happen.”
“I know. Sometimes things like this happen for a reason though. Maybe we needed to go through this to realize how much we meant to each other. I never want us to fight again.”
    “Me either.”
She kissed him on his lips and then pushed against him. He groaned in pain and stopped her.
“Not tonight, Meeka. I want us to be at our best. Last time was wonderful, but I really have the desire to slam inside of you like I want.”
Meeka shivered and kissed him again. Willing him to change his mind and let her love him.
“Let me ride you, Rick, I will be gentle.”
She felt a lurch against her and smiled up at him.
“You will drive me to my grave quick enough, Meeka. Let’s just lay together. I just want to be next to you.”
Meeka shook her head and followed him to their bed. It welcomed them with open arms and she sighed at where she was supposed to be. A thought came to her mind and she blurted it out at his closed eyes and face.
“We will go to California if that's what you want, baby. I know that it will be hard on the kids, but we will make it work. If that's something that you really want to do, I will not hold you back from it. I want you to be happy and our happiness depends on being with you.”
Meeka stopped and waited for him to say something. When a minute passed, she started to wonder if he had fallen asleep. She snuck a glance at his face and his bright blue eyes were burning into hers. She couldn’t quite see what his face held in the dying light.
“We'll stay here, Meeka, and Malik can go wherever he wants. I know he doesn’t like that school. I just get nervous with him in that neighborhood. It would not be the first time that I had lost someone on that very block. Before I came home the other night, I had lost another gunshot victim. That's why I started drinking. I just can’t stand the thought of something happening to any of you. Malik, you and Carter, your my heart, my soul, my everything.”
He held her close and felt wetness on his chest. Meeka was not a very emotional person, so he tried not to bring it up. But the act touched her. The whole week had been emotional and she was on her last leg. Just having him home and there was enough, but his sweet words were just too much for her to hear.
“It’s okay, Meeka. It's all in the past now. I am staying here and hopefully soon, we'll have more babies running around the house. We still have two rooms to fill and as soon as I am able, I want to get started on it.”
Meeka leaned up and brushed her lips against his own soft ones. He deepened the kiss, but pulled short as her body started to move against him.
“Give me another day or two and I promise you I'll make it worth your wait.”
Meeka whined a little, pressing her thighs together. She needed him right then, but she would wait. She would wait as long as she needed to.
“Well hurry up, because I'm going to give you something that you have been wanting for a long time.”
Rick’s mind went to one thing, but he didn’t want to hope. He didn’t want to get his hopes dashed as he was afraid might happen. Meeka turned over and gave him her back, pressing her ass against the hard front of his pants as he too shifted to spoon his wife. His cock raged behind her and she did not help the situation by slowly rubbing herself against him.
    Meeka’s hands went to
