wrote his confession as his jaw is wired and he can’t talk. That’s all the police need.”
“What will happen to them?” Fiona asked.
There was a pause as the first course was cleared away, and the second placed before them, pork tenderloin fillet on a bed of courgettes, button mushrooms, and shallots with a mustard-and-cream sauce. Wine was served from the club’s cellar.
“Pattinson seems to have lost the plot, and they are considering sectioning him, if the psychiatrist says he’s unfit to plead, but he’ll be under lock and key for a long time. He may well end up in Broadmoor,” Jack said, after the catering staff had left the dining room.
“Will Fiona have to go to court to give evidence?” Master Ruari inquired.
“I doubt it. Jackson is pleading guilty and Gordon is unfit to plead. With Fiona’s statement, in addition to the evidence found, they will be found guilty and sentenced. Jackson knew about Gordon and thought to get a deal by turning Queen’s evidence, but there’s not much chance of that.”
“That is a relief!” Fiona said.
The dessert was Prometheus’s favourite, ever since Jane had made it for him. It was cinnamon apple crumble with hot vanilla custard. In deference to the Scots present and the location of the club, Wensleydale cheese and Orkney oatcakes were offered, and then coffee was served in the club’s main room.
“Now that’s all settled, you can all think about my party,” Angus said.
Chapter Seventeen
The day of Master Angus’s party dawned. The weather was fine and sunny, just right for an outdoor event. The last-minute preparations were complete. Fiona and her Doms had helped to put up the flags and set out the food under covers in the kitchen.
The theme was red, white, and blue and everyone turned up in the appropriate colours. Some were wearing less than others. Fiona looked proudly at the twins in full Highland dress. Everyone was in a festive mood as they chatted and laughed. Fiona loved the Union Jacks that decorated her finger and toe nails.
Master Angus called for their attention and began to explain the rules of the game he had invented, “Hunt the Sub.” Masters would be paired with subs. Each pair was allocated one of the extra-wide recliners he had set out on the terrace. Subs would hide and their Masters would seek them out. If they could get back to the recliner before their Masters caught them, they would escape the torment. If not, and they were caught, they would be taken back to the recliners, and tormented there until the last sub was found, when round two would begin. He had something special planned for round two and he would reveal that later. Fiona thought it was going to be another episode of subs getting the dirty end of the stick but knew better than to say so.
She took off running to try and get as far to the left as she could so she might have a chance of running back to the recliner and escaping whatever evil torment they had devised. But with her against two Doms, it was going to be difficult. She was startled to hear a guffaw of laughter from the house, and large men crossed the terrace, calling their subs. Really, as if any of them would be silly enough to come out, she thought.
“Come out, come out wherever you are,” called Master Alexander, and she peeped around the bush she was hiding in and saw him a good distance away. She was about to run for the recliner when a large hand descended on her shoulder. She whirled around, as Master Ruari called to his brother that he had her. She had been no match for two Doms, and she wondered what torment they would inflict on her. She had been one of the first to be caught, so hers would last longer. Master Ruari picked her up, put her over his shoulder in a firemen’s lift and carried her back to the recliner. There are some compensations . She had a good view of his buttocks tightly encased in his kilt. She licked her lips in anticipation.
Master Ruari settled himself on the
