again,” is what my Portuguese grandmother said.* In this recipe, the banana and oatmeal combination has a slightly “expansive” effect, making you feel satisfied and full more quickly than other flatter cookies may.
    * P.S. Reducing irritation is vital to clearing acne, so never scrub it. Anything that rubs, scratches, or scrubs the skin can cause irritation, so stay very gentle with your towel and avoid washcloths on acne.
    Ingredients:
3 cups rolled oats, old-fashioned or instant
    1 teaspoon Truvia Baking Blend
    1/2 teaspoon iodized salt
    1/4 teaspoon baking soda
    2 dashes cinnamon
1/4 cup cacao powder—the darker, the better
    3 medium-ripe bananas—moisturizing
    1/4 cup applesauce
    2 tablespoons grapeseed oil—moisturizing
    Preparation:
1 Preheat the oven to 350°F.
2 Lightly grease two baking sheets.
3 In a large bowl, whisk together the oats, Truvia Baking Blend, salt, baking soda, cinnamon, and cacao. Set aside.
4 In a medium bowl, mash the bananas to a creamy consistency using the back of a fork or a potato masher. Blend in the applesauce and grapeseed oil until thoroughly combined.
5 Mix the liquid ingredients into the dry ingredients.
6 Roll into small balls and drop onto the prepared baking sheets. Flatten the balls slightly with the palm of your hand.
7 Bake for 15 minutes or until crispy and slightly firm. Remove from the baking sheet once the cookies have cooled.
    VA-VA’S OATMEAL ACNE FACIAL
Mix together 1/2 cup of oatmeal, 2 teaspoons of honey, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, and 1/4 cup of baking soda. Apply and leave on for 15 minutes, Sweetheart.
    ALMOND OATMEAL—EXFOLIATING MASK
Exfoliating removes the surface layer of dead cells, allowing your freshest skin to shine through. Depending on a few factors such as age and the climate in which you live, most women should exfoliate 1 to 2 times weekly and men should exfoliate 2 to 3 times weekly. You’ll need:
    1/2 cup almond milk
    2 tablespoons rolled oats
    2 tablespoons avocado
    1/2 cup almonds
Add the ingredients to a blender in the order listed and secure the lid. Blend until pasty (approximately 30 seconds) and press “Pulse” to stop the cycle. This recipe yields enough for two masks. You can store any extra in the fridge and use the next day, or do your mask with a pal.
    BAKING SODA FACIAL
Believe it or not, baking soda is instrumental in acne control (but not for sensitive skin). For clearing acne with baking soda you have to prepare a thick paste by mixing baking soda powder with water. Apply it over the acne and wait for 15 minutes. Do not rub or circle roughly into skin as this can irritate the epidermis. Wash with cold water. In the treatment, the baking soda acts as an exfoliator and removes the dead skin cells and excess oil that are responsible for causing acne. To balance the pH, follow this treatment with diluted lemon juice or apple cider vinegar blotted gently on the face with a cotton ball, or dab with a Q-tip cotton swab for targeted application.
Blueberry and Banana Cottage Cheese Parfait
    Makes 1 Serving
A n easy-to-assemble snack that’s quick, delicious, nutritious, and bursting with flavor. These tangy sweet berries are wild with flavors that compliment a multitude of desserts, jellies, and jams—and cosmetic products, too. Paired with creamy and satisfying cottage cheese, this protein/antioxidant rich combo is a one-two punch against aging. Blueberries also have a high water content, which makes them great for hydration. And since dehydration usually shows first in our face—around the eyes—blueberries are another go-to food for eye-area improvement. I do, however, try to avoid eating them while drinking my morning coffee, as the two in combination are abrasive on teeth and may cause staining. Enjoy your blueberry parfait with a hot cup of antioxidant-rich green tea instead.
    Ingredients:
