Deciding he might as well get her barefoot, he pulled off her s hoes and socks .
Smiling in anticipation , he ran a hand up the inside of her leg. She gasped and hobbled back a few ineffective inches. He waited until she gave up, then continued his journey.
“Don’t, damn it, don’t!” she hissed.
What was that? Profanity? Time to teach her where she stood in the great order of things. Slid ing his hand under the silly shorts, he worked his way past her panties until h is fingers encountered pubic hair.
“Disgusting.” He made his point by grabbing a few hairs and yank ing. “ A thick bush is one thing I will not allow.”
He yanked again. She’d gotten through the first pull without complaining. Now her breath hissed , and she again tried to put distance between them. Good thing her legs were hobbled , otherwise undoubtedly she’d try to kick him.
Hair in part of the female body that should remain exposed and available had long turned his stomach. Between that and the growing discomfort in his knees, he easily convinced himself to let go. He used her body to haul himself up.
Grasping her jaw, he forced her to look at him. “Here’s a piece of information for you, slave . Your pussy has become your most valuable asset. Your master expects it to be in pristine condition at all time s . Of course, his opinion of what constitutes pristine may differ from mine, but no way will he want a shaggy cunt .”
L ecture given, he let her go. She lifted one leg and then the other as far as she could but didn’t try to put distance between them. Good. She was beginning to understand. One more thing in her favor, she wasn’t a beggar.
Smiling the smile that more than one sex slave had called cold, he reached in his back pocket and drew out his pen knife. She stared at it the way a caged bird stares at a cat.
One, two, three slashes and her bra fell to the floor.
“I guess that’s that,” Damek said. “Don’t go anywhere. I’ll be back.”

    Chapter Seven

The evergreens beyond Shari’s reach were vibrant, proof they received an abundance of rain. Thinking about that, trying to anyway, she wondered if she was in the northwest where forest covered much of the land near the ocean . She could be anywhere in th is nameless, dark, and cooling forest. Even if she managed to get free, she might never find her way out.
Against her will, she looked down. Because she sometimes ran barefoot, the bottoms of her feet were pretty tough, but she had no ill usions about her ability to walk through the wilderness without shoes. He’d done that on purpose, just as he’d ruined her bra.
She still had shorts on, not that they were any defense against what the men had planned for her.
No! Don’t go there . She couldn’t stop shivering.
Despite her attempts not to, h er mind kept falling into bottomless pits . S he didn’t know how long she’d been in the kennel. Occasional bird sounds were a godsend and briefly distracted her from her full bladder. Did they expect her to hold it forever? Maybe they didn’t care.
The more she thought about needing to urinate , the worse the pressure became, but she was a grown woman. She didn’t wet herself.
There were three kennels. The other two were empty except for an assortment of restraints. She ’d see n something like this during news coverage of a dog fighting operation. The difference between what had been on TV and her reality was that the kennels here were designed to hold humans.
    Women.
    Sex slaves.
Muffled sounds coming from the forest caught her attention. Concentrating , she conclud ed that s everal people were coming her way. Embarrassed about her near naked state , she vacillated between calling for help and waiting. Caution and dread won.
Three figures came into view . They were walking single file along a narrow path she’d taken for a deer trail except would deer come this close to what might be the only manmade structure for miles around? The first
