Chase, leaning back against the counter with their arms folded over their wide chests, watched attentively.
“You’re wearing Blade’s collar.” Clay said through clenched teeth. “Apparently we’ll have to go see him.”
With a scorching glance at Kelly and a look that promised retribution directed at Jesse, Clay stormed out.
“Oh, no!” Kelly groaned. She looked at Jesse fearfully. “What am I going to do? Can’t you stop him?”
“Stop Clay?” Jesse asked incredulously to the amusement of both Boone and Chase. They still chuckled as Rio approached Kelly.
“We’re only trying to look out for you, honey.” When he grasped her arms, Kelly’s eyes flew to his. “I want you to promise that you’ll come to me if you need help.”
    “I will,” Kelly nodded hesitantly.
“I mean it, Kelly. We’ll both be watching you like hawks.”
At the sound of Clay’s truck tearing out of the parking lot, Rio grimaced. “Give me your keys, Kelly. I’d better go stop Clay from killing Blade before we get the answers we need.”
Kelly turned and lifted her keys from the hook on the wall.
“You won’t let him hurt Blade, will you?” she couldn’t help asking as he started for the door.
Rio glanced back at her over his shoulder. “That depends on his answers.”

Almost two hours passed before Clay and Rio came back. Clay walked in and Kelly, who’d been listening for them from the front, hurried to the back to see what had happened.
Jesse had just finished addressing the last of the boxes she and Kelly had packed for shipping. Chase, who’d been flirting with both women shamelessly the whole time, winked at Kelly.
“Come on, Jesse. Ditch Rio and Clay and come live with us. Boone and I are younger and have a lot more stamina than those two ugly husbands of yours. Oh, Clay, Rio, back so soon?”
Rio walked in just as Clay growled, “Stay away from my woman.” He lifted Jesse off her feet and kissed her hungrily.
“ You trying to steal our woman?” Rio asked with a mock frown while moving to Jesse for his kiss.
“Been at it with both of them since you left,” Boone muttered. “Can’t get a lick of work out of him.”
Of course, no one believed him. The old cabinets and countertop had already been removed and they had started on installing the new ones.
“What happened?” Kelly asked Clay anxiously when he released Jesse to Rio.
His face tightened. “We talked to Blade.”
Kelly glanced at Jesse, who started toward her. Rio pulled his wife against his chest.
Kelly turned back to Clay. “And?”
Clay folded his arms over his chest and stared at her. “When Jesse first came to Desire, Jake, as Jesse’s brother in law immediately became her protector. Jesse and Nat had gone shopping and got a flat tire.” He turned to frown at his wife. “Nat had already called Jake and knew we’d be there. But, Jesse decided to change it herself and had already started when Jake, Rio and I pulled up. Jake made her stop. She could have been hurt and Jake had every right to turn her over his knee and paddle her ass. Rio and I couldn’t have done a thing to stop it.”
His lips twitched. “Right now, Blade feels what we felt that day.”
Of their own violation, Kelly’s hands moved to cover her bottom. She looked at Clay in horror.
    “You wouldn’t!”
When Clay merely raised a brow, Kelly turned pleading eyes to Jesse.
    “Jesse, damn it! Do something!”
Hiding a smile, Jesse winked at her and whispered something to Rio. He smiled dangerously and released her to go to Clay. Kelly noticed Rio’s eyes never left Jesse’s jean clad bottom as she reached up and pulled Clay’s head down to whisper in his ear.
Both of Clay’s brows shot up at whatever Jesse had said to him and with a grin, he straightened.
Without a word, Rio moved to Jesse, flung her, laughing and wiggling, over his shoulder and went out the door. Kelly couldn’t help but notice that both men now sported impressive
