made her smile.
“Spread your legs wide.” Gripping his latex-sheathed base,
he knelt between her legs and lined up to her wet center. After nudging the
entrance he paused and she clamped around his head.
“Damn, you’ve got a needy pussy, baby.”
Sweat dotted her brow. She forced her muscles to relax and
take him.
“That’s it baby, take it all.” It was a slow burn as he
molded the walls to fit his girth. When fully seated, she swore she could feel
him pressed snug against her belly.
“You feel so good, Juliette.” The husky timber of his voice
made her cream. “You are so wet.” He moaned and she dug her fingernails into
his biceps.
    “You’re so big.”
“We’ll go slow.” He pulled out and eased back in.
Whimpering, she arched her back as pain gave way to pleasure.
“Oh god, right there.” She gasped, closing her eyes as the
pressure built.
“Open those big browns, I want to see you.”
She forced her heavy lids up and focused on his face,
highlighted by the moonlight streaming in through the window.
“That’s it baby.” He increased his speed as he took them
both higher and higher until they came together in an explosive climax that
displayed fireworks behind her lids. His weight pressed her into the mattress
and she began to drift off as sleep took her.

Chapter Six

Shooter ran a hand over his tired face and groaned. What
the hell was I thinking, talking about making her my old lady? I’m not sure she
understands all of this and yet here I am spilling my guts.
It was a rookie tactic to land a girl in bed. Not a mistake
a veteran made. Worse yet, he meant every word. His instincts usually had him
running like the devil had his number when he found himself catching the barest
hint of emotion toward a female. He was practically spewing Shakespeare to
her—well Shakespeare for him.
Fuck. He could take it all back but that would leave him
dead in the water. He wanted her. Making her an old lady ensured her safety
while she moved around in his world. Glancing over at the woman beside him, he
shook his head.
She looked like a damn teenager. Worry-free and peaceful,
her toffee skin practically glowed. I’m dating the Noxzema girl. The boys
are never going to let me live this down. He shook his head at the razzing
he was in for.
His stomach knotted. Bringing her into his world smacked of
corruption. Walk away. Sitting up from his position hunched over on the
side of the bed, he pushed to his feet, needing distance. She opened her eyes
to reveal brown orbs full of joy to see him. How long had it been since that
had happened?
“Morning.” Her husky voice tickled places he’d thought long
dead.
    “Morning.”
Unsure what else to say, he stretched his arms above his
head. The room grew cold as she visibly shrank back into the sheets surrounding
her. I’m fucking it up before things even get started. Say something,
asshole.
“I was just about to take a shower. You want to join me?” He
nodded toward the bathroom, feeling awkward for the first time he could
remember in years. Sweet butts knew to get ghost when he was done, and he’d
never made it anywhere near an old lady, not even a sweetie.
His head spun as his brain tried to unearth all the
gentlemanly habits his father had used toward his mom. Might not know it at
first glance, but his family had been as straight-laced as they came—proud, all-American,
god-fearing Midwest folk, proud to serve their country.
“Yes.” Her face took on the bashful look that made his blood
boil. That untainted, wholesome quality was rare. He couldn’t help but want to
preserve it. You can take a man out of the services, but you can’t take out
the morals beat into him. “After last night, you’re shy?”
    “No.” Her voice cracked.
“Don’t worry. I can fix that.” Kneeling on the bed, he bent
to trace her lips with his tongue until she opened her mouth and granted him
entrance. Her body became soft and pliant and her legs fell
