sweetheart.” He pulled back and ran the pad of his finger between her eyes. “I’m going to make sure of that. No one will ever hurt you again.” He kissed her forehead, knowing that he’d never been this gentle with a woman before. Amy brought out this side in him, and the fact she’d given him this moment, this gift, despite the trauma she’d endured, made him feel like the luckiest fucker on the planet.
“I know you’ll take care of me,” she murmured sleepily, even though they had slept all night. He wanted to hold her, inhale her scent, and keep her protected against him. Joker rolled off her, pulled her close to his chest, and kissed the top of her head. He felt her acceptance in every word and every move. She rested her head against his chest, her hand draped on his stomach.
Joker felt the tendrils of his love for her encompass him, but he only felt like his with Amy. His Amy.

A my opened her eyes and found Joker smiling down at her. “Hello, sleepyhead.”
    “Hello,” she said.
Everything they had done together came rushing back. They hadn’t fucked, it hadn’t been seedy. It had been beautiful. They’d made love, come together as one.
“How are you doing in there?” he asked, stroking his fingers over her temple. “Are we still okay?”
“I’m more than okay.” She snuggled closer, running the tips of her fingers over his chest. “I never knew it could be like that.”
“Of course you wouldn’t know how it could be with someone that loved and treasured you.”
“Joker?” She gave him a look.
“No, Amy. You don’t remember him. You were a virgin in every way that was important. I’m not thinking about him and neither are you. That’s an order and I expect you to remember that. I was asking how you were feeling, not about anything else.”
“You’re so bossy. I don’t know if I like bossy.” She scrunched her nose.
“There’s a difference with me, baby.”
“Yeah? What is it?” she asked.
“You like me, so you like me being bossy.”
    “That’s weird logic.”
    “It’s my logic.”
His cell phone started to ring, interrupting their little moment together. He reached over her looking at the screen. “I’ve got to take this, honey.”
“Okay. I’m going to take a shower and then I’ll make us some breakfast.”
“Good.” Before she moved away, he cupped her cheek, claiming her lips. She gasped as his tongue thrust into her mouth. Opening up to him, she cupped his neck, holding onto him. The cell phone stopped ringing halfway through the kiss.
When it was over, she pressed her head against his. She didn’t want the kiss to end.
    “Your phone stopped,” she said.
“I’ll call them back. We’re going to explore this a little more.” He laid a gentle kiss on her lips before getting up.
Releasing a sigh, she watched his naked ass disappear out of the room. “Great, he’s gone.”
Pushing the blankets off her body, she stood up, stretching out. She became aware of the small aches all over. The kind of aches that came from being thoroughly loved.
The mirror across the room caught her attention, and she stood naked staring at herself.
    “You did it.”
It wasn’t exactly a hardship. She’d not done anything great or challenging. There had always been a connection between the two of them. From the moment they’d first met as kids, she’d been caught up in his world, loving him. For so long she’d loved him from afar, taking her time to get to know him. Touching the pulse at her neck, she released a groan remembering the way his lips touched her sweet spots. He knew what buttons to press to turn her on. Sliding her hand down her body, she caressed over her breasts. Her nipples were a little redder and swollen from his kisses.
    “I belong to Joker.”
Smiling to herself, she held her head up high. There was nothing to be ashamed of. She’d loved Joker for so long, and now she was learning what it was like to be his woman. The thought of him
