Katie, you are breathtaking,” he whispered as he
lowered his mouth to hers. His strong arms wrapped around her and brought her
tightly against his hard body. She grabbed onto him eagerly and moved
seductively in his embrace. She cupped his tight ass as their tongues met.
“Do you guys realize that the people across the street are,
like, eighty years old and if they catch your show they might have a heart
attack?”
Kate instantly stiffened in Bryan’s arms but he kept an iron
hold on her as he reluctantly ended their kiss. He smiled down and winked
before he turned with her held tightly to his side so that they could go into
the house.
“Kate, I’d like you to meet my friend Jason,” Bryan said
cheerfully as he closed the front door and led her into the living room.
“Um, hi Jason,” Kate stammered as she held out her hand in
greeting. “I didn’t realize that Bryan had company.” She shot Bryan an “I’m
going to kill you when we’re alone” look that he seemed to completely ignore.
“Jason instinctively knows when I have a pot of my famous
chili on the stove and he feels entitled to come by and mooch a meal. After all
these years I can’t possibly break him of the habit.”
“It’s very nice to finally meet you, Kate,” Jason drawled as
he took her hand in a strong, warm grip. His crooked smile helped to soften his
incredibly masculine, hard features. “I’ve heard a great deal about you.” He
didn’t let go of her hand while he raked her from head to toe with his piercing
eyes.
“All good, I hope,” Kate replied feebly as she struggled to
get her racing pulse under control. This man was tall, dark, handsome and a bit
intimidating. He was slightly thinner than Bryan but just as well built. His
jet black hair fell to his shoulders and helped to accentuate his Native
American features. Bryan had talked many times about his friend from college
and their antics but had never told her what he looked like. Kate could
actually picture these two walking into a bar and having women throw themselves
at their feet.
“He didn’t begin to do you justice, darlin’. Bryan always
was the lucky one with the sexy ladies.” Jason casually walked over, dropped
himself on the oversized couch and began opening the wine.
“Wow, Bryan your chili must be really good. Your friend here
will say anything to get a bowl.” Her sexy to a guy like that? The silly
comment did, however, help to get her beyond the surprise of the situation. She
could deal with any man who had a good sense of humor. She sat down on the
other end of the couch.
“He’s just jealous as usual,” Bryan laughed as he handed
Kate her drink and then sat down on the floor with his arm casually draped over
her leg.
Kate relaxed almost instantly as Bryan and Jason started
casual conversation. Within a few minutes, the three of them were chatting and
laughing about everything from politics to movies to current events and
everything in between and before they knew it, an hour had passed.
Without even realizing it, Kate had gradually repositioned
herself to slightly recline against the arm of the couch so that she could idly
stroke Bryan’s hair. Her shoes were off and she loved the feeling of the plush
carpeting between the toes of her foot that was still on the floor. The other
leg was pulled up on the couch.
Jason was finishing a story but Kate found herself studying
him instead of actually listening to him. He really was easy on the eyes. Her
mind wandered to a book that she had recently read about the sexual escapades
of a Comanche warrior in the Old West. She could actually picture Jason in the
role of untamed wild man, seducing innocent women into offering him their
virginity.
“And then the Yeti hopped in his sports car and drove off
into the sunset.”
“What?” Bryan exclaimed as he sat straight up and stared at
his friend. Jason, however, was only looking at Kate. He leaned over and gently
touched her foot.
