though because when he is out of the picture, I'm buying the biggest house I can find far away from the hood.
“Something’s wrong Mia,” Jasmine said crying into the phone, pulling me out of my thoughts.
    “What do you mean?”
“He's missing, nobody has seen or heard from him and that ain't like Slick at all.”
Fuck , I thought to myself. I knew in my mind that if what Jasmine was saying was true, Slick was dead, but who the hell killed him?
This wasn't the type of news I was hoping for going to see my brother. I planned on having everything in line so when he came out, our family could finally be back on top. I only had about two months to get it together now.
“I will get to the bottom of it Jasmine, and as soon as I find out anything I will call you.”
“Please do Mia, I know I always talked about him not being shit, but he loved me the best way he knew how.”
I hung up the phone and sat in my thoughts for a moment. How the hell did Slick mess this up and wind up dead? From what he told me, he and Ava had a thing going on. Nothing serious, but they would mess around from time to time. He said all he had to do is call her and she would come running. I knew she was a hoe. Ain't no telling how many niggas she was messing around with for real.
“What you thinking about?” Duce asked as he walked out of the bathroom.
“I just talked to Jasmine and she is worried about Slick. Said she hasn't seen or talked to him in almost a week.”
One thing I wasn't able to do is get Duce to talk to me about shit that went on inside his business, rather it be the legit side or the street side.
“Really baby? I will keep my ear to the streets and see what's what. That nigga probably lying up in some ass,” he said with a chuckle giving me a kiss on the forehead.
I knew this nigga was lying because he never looks me in the eyes when he’s lying.
“Thanks baby, please don't forget to ask,” I said walking into the bathroom to get myself ready.
When I arrived at Grafton Correctional Institution, I still had to wait another two hours before I finally got to see him.
“Visitor for Maurice Douglas, you have thirty minutes,” one of the correction officers told me.
“Hey, brother,” I yelled excited to see him.
    “What's good baby sister?”
I wanted to reach out and give him a hug, but we weren't allowed to touch.
“Let me know what's going on. How is our little plan coming along?”
“Well, Duce finally decided to put me in his will. Never did I think a drug dealer would have a will, but he got so much shit I guess it makes sense. I know everybody on his payroll, but I have yet to find out who his connect is.”
“I told you, you’re going to need Ava for that one.” I turned up my nose at the thought of Ava.
“Well I tried, but my plan didn't work and the nigga that was supposed to grab her for me is dead now, so I have to come up with something else.”
“Yo ass is hardheaded. I told you no harm is to come to Ava, but you just have to do things your way, right? It's been two years, over two years and all you had to do is get her on your side, so she will trust you. You would have all the info we needed if you just would've done what the fuck I said.”
I sat there with my arms crossed over my chest because I hated Ava with a passion and he knew it.
“You just want her for yourself. I don't give a fuck what happens to Ava. I wish the bitch would go kill herself.”
I knew my brother had a thing for Ava ever since he fucked her back when they were in school. But I could care less.
“I'm gonna need you to make this shit happen before I touch down, ight? It’s too late for you to even try to be buddy buddy with Ava. Just do what you have to do, but don't kill her.”
    “Word is bond big bruh.”
“I hear you, you got five weeks so get to work,” Maurice said.
We talked about a couple other things before the CO announced it was time to leave.
Leaving Grafton, I thought about another way
