expression.
    “Hi,” I said faux-cheerfully.
He didn’t mirror my expression. In fact, he looked downright pissed off.
I couldn’t meet his gaze, knowing I had something that belonged to his brother up my ass. Why didn’t I take it out immediately?
Because I was addicted to being dominated and horny as hell, that’s why.
I couldn’t meet his angry stare so I let my eyes wonder to something new I saw on the floor, off to the side.
    “Nice rug.”
He seemed surprised, then glanced over his shoulder at it. “Yeah, there’s not a good spot for it here. I’m moving it to my house.” He looked back at me, stone-faced.
I opened my mouth to make conversation, but couldn’t think of anything else to say.
“You were in my brother’s office.”
It sounded like an accusation. Why did I feel so guilty? They obviously hired me to play these games, and Dixon and I weren’t in a relationship.
“Yes, he wanted me to take some notes.”
“Huh! Notes.” Of course, he knew it was a ridiculous request. “I heard you…moaning…screaming…” He looked hurt.
A fresh wave of guilt washed over me. Damn, the last thing I wanted was for Dixon to hear me making sounds like those with another man.
Whatever he felt about me, in that moment, I was sure I cared for him.
    “Dixon, I…he ordered…it was—”
    “Did he touch you?”
    “Well, sort of…”
Dixon’s jaw clenched and his look was so fierce I took a step back and pressed my back against the door.
He closed the distance between us and smashed the heel of his fist into the door above my head.
Grabbing my chin, he forced me to look into his eyes as he had the day before.
“Tell me how he touched you…exactly.”
“He made me bend over the desk…” I didn’t want to finish, but Dixon’s enraged expression made me rush through the rest. “He put on surgical gloves and stuck something in my, um, ass. Some sort of remote control vibrator.”
Dixon relaxed a bit and moved his hand from my chin, placing his palm on the door next to my face.
“He touched you with gloves on? No skin contact?”
    “No.”
“That OCD germaphobe control freak. The only woman he ever touched without a Hazmat suit was his wife.”
“His wife?” Had I been taking my clothes off for a married man?
“She died a few years ago. After that, he got even weirder with the OCD and germ stuff. He’s still great with the company. I always figure I’ll know he’s in love again if he actually touches a woman.”
For a moment, Dixon seemed kind of sad for his brother, but at least he was much more relaxed now.
A tantalizing thought teased through my mind. Maybe he’d been jealous. Maybe he’d been afraid his brother had real feelings for me.
And Dixon? What did he feel?
I wanted to ask him, but this whole situation was so strange. You didn’t go from office sex slave to romance with the boss. Did you?
My eyes had wandered as I considered the possibilities. I realized I was staring at Dixon’s big silver belt buckle.
He ran the back of a finger gently up my cheek and I met his gaze. His blue eyes shone with…what?
“Tessa, I’ve been thinking about you.”
I raised my eyebrows, not sure how to respond, not sure where he was going with this.
“The fact is, I think about you all the time.”
What did he mean? Sexually? Romantically?
“I think about you, too,” I said.
“The thing is…” he began tentatively.
Was Dixon Maddox actually nervous? “You’re something different for me. I’ve been having feel—”
“Uhhhh!” I yelled as a sudden vibration exploded in my ass. I jumped and my body shuddered.
“Did he leave that thing in you?” Dixon asked incredulously.
I nodded. “To remind me to be more careful and meticulous in my work.”
“Fucking asshole! Take your clothes off!”
I was stunned by his change in mood. His eyes were blue-black now and every muscle in his body seemed tensed for a fight. I just stared at him.
    He reached up and
