Hilary’s perfectly professional face if she could have seen her.
She’d managed, with a few contortion skills, to dry her hair and had been doing a final check on her appearance when Adam had knocked. As she emerged, he smiled and took her hand.
“You look lovely,” he said, and led her toward the small executive reception area.
As the lift doors closed to take them down to the ground floor, Adam pulled her into his arms and kissed her again. Hmm, he’d shaved and his skin felt velvety soft, but in a few hours there’d be fresh stubble to look forward to and a little tingle of anticipation stirred in her stomach.
He kissed her even harder when her body trembled and she wondered if he might stop the lift and take her again. But no such luck.
He pulled back slightly and traced his finger along the circumference of her neck, as if outlining the shape of a collar. He raised his eyebrows at her, and she blushed, not missing the inference. The momentary jolt of pleasure she’d felt quickly turned to unease as the question of his need for her to submit completely reared its head again. It seemed nothing had changed.
Rob was waiting outside when they emerged from the building and, once they were seated in the car, Adam leaned over and whispered, “Thank you for my birthday present.” His breath tickled her ear, sending little shivers through her body. “And for the paints.”
She laughed. “There might be more of the first present later if you’re lucky.”
“That’ll be for me to decide,” he growled then brought his mouth back down on hers, forcing his tongue inside and demanding her surrender. The tingly, melting feeling of submission overpowered her immediately and her body went limp. There was no doubt that he was the one in control. Damn him.
Apparently happy that she’d been reminded of her place, he slipped his hand under her skirt and moved it, slowly but purposefully, up the inside of her thigh until it reached her pussy. She shifted unashamedly forward in the seat, leaned back and opened her legs to give him better access. When he pushed his finger inside her, she moaned in pleasure. She was already wet again.
He slid his finger back out and rubbed her juices over her clit, and Rachel sighed happily as she waited for him to bring her to another glorious high.
“Good, I see there’s no need for lube.”
His words snapped her back to her senses. What?
    “Close your eyes,” he commanded.
Oh no, what was he going to do now? He forced her legs farther apart and she felt something cold and hard being pushed into her. It wasn’t huge, and didn’t feel particularly invasive. She opened her eyes and frowned. With no knickers, she was going to have to clench like crazy to keep this damned thing in.
“Is there a problem?” asked Adam, watching her expression.
“No, Sir.” What was the point of complaining, it wouldn’t make any difference, except give him another excuse to reprimand her again.
“Good. You will keep the bullet in until I say otherwise. Understood?”
“Yes, Sir,” she said, trying hard to keep the annoyance out of her voice. He’d better make it up to her later.
When they arrived in central London, Adam helped her out of the car and grinned when she stepped awkwardly out, trying to keep her legs as closed as possible. He took her arm as they walked into a busy, noisy wine bar. Oh crap, it was one of those trendy bars with hardly any seats—clusters of people stood around, clutching wine glasses and chatting animatedly over the buzz. She wasn’t sure she could remain clenched for such a long time and had a horrendous vision of the bloody thing inside her falling out and crashing onto the floor for everyone to see.
Adam looked around, trying to find his friends over the cloud of heads, then nodded his head toward one end of the bar.
Two men were smiling at them as they approached. They were both tall, but that’s where the likeness ended. One of them had a shaved
