to bandage herself up. Didn’t she know how enticing her scent was to a predator? With packs of males roaming to mate right now, she’d become an easy target. Somehow I knew I couldn’t let that happen.
Slowly I walked out from the cover of the trees, purposefully making noise. Fearfully she turned around. Head on, she was breathtaking.
    “Hi,” she said with relief.
    “What happened?”
“I was up on the ridge there, taking pictures. I took a step too far, and it crumbled. It was a stupid move.”
A shudder passed through her body. My instincts honed onto it. I wanted to wrap myself around her, but I knew that would only serve to freak her out more. There was a side path that led back up towards the main trail. I guessed that other hikers had also fallen this way before. As I got to her side, I noticed that her cheek was streaked with tears. I dropped my own pack and began to riffle through it, searching for the first aid kit.
“I’m Cole,” I said, holding out my hand.
    “Tanya.”
Her hand was soft and cool to the touch, but her grip was surprisingly firm. Below her pain, I could sense a strong personality. My inner wolf approved. I frowned, but it was too late. My cock was already stirring against my thigh, the blood already draining from my head to my groin. The urge to take her out here in the open stirred even my human imagination. I shook my head, trying to clear my thoughts.
“It looks bad doesn’t it?” she asked, mistaking my expression.
“Well, aside from the gash, I think you twisted it pretty badly. It’s definitely swollen up quite a bit. I’m thinking you won’t be able to move for at least a while, maybe even the rest of the day. It gets dark quite early now, and trying to find your way on foot won’t be easy in the mountains.”
“What am I going to do! My pack’s fallen over the edge.”
I looked over the lip of the cliff. It was definitely gone.
“Don’t worry Tanya. I can stay with you for the night. We’re only a day and a half from the next service station on the Trail.”
    “I couldn’t possi-“
“I’m staying,” I said firmly. “It can be dangerous out here alone.” Especially for a fertile, young woman like yourself, I added in my mind.
Her emerald eyes crinkled, smiling for the first time. I felt my erection stretch against my shorts, and tried to shift my body away from her to hide it. Inside, the wolf in me wagged, pleased to be bedding with her in our makeshift den. An animal lust coursed through me, and I had to take a few deep breaths to regain my composure. I didn’t want to frighten Tanya, not now.
“So what brought you out to these parts?” I asked gruffly as I busied with her dressing.
“I’m a photographer, and this was one of the assignments. It’s supposed to go in next year’s calendar or something.”
“You look pretty young for that.”
“I’m twenty-two!” she said indignantly, then lapsed into silence.
“Don’t worry, I’m not a bad guy,” I said, picking up on her thoughts. “At least, I’m not the worst. You’ll be safe with me I promise. Now let’s bring you back up to safety.”
I finished wrapping up her foot and stood up. Shouldering my pack, I leaned down and scooped up her body. She was warm and sweet smelling, her scent clouding my mind entirely. She smelled positively delicious. Tanya obediently curled up against my chest, giving me a full view down the neckline of her tight flannel shirt. Her milky skin gave way to plump round globes, and I gripped her body harder. I wanted to touch and squeeze them, to have my way with her.
“Thanks,” she said looking up at me with a smile. “It already feels a little better.”
    “I’ll set up camp here.”
I tried to keep my voice level, but a growl crept into it nonetheless. Luckily Tanya didn’t notice. She was relieved of her pain, and she began to talk about her life as I set her down and started to work. I listened for the most part, astonished at how
