beginning to stir. The beast is coming alive all over again. Oh my goodness! I step closer and reach out a hand.
âSorry, gorgeous, thatâs not for you,â he whispers and kisses my cheek. âI really need to go.â With that, he disappears into the bathroom.
I walk over to the door. I check that it is bolted. I feel wide awake now. I feel like taking no prisoners. All bets are off. Didnât someone once write that the whole world is a stage and we are all players, or something like that? I feel like a player. I feel like a lowdown, dirty player. My reflection can take a hike. I know what Iâm doing. Iâm wild in the city having some fun. Open the windows because itâs getting hot in here. Itâs time to blow off some steam, if you get my drift.
Chapter Eight â Hazy
The hot water is oh so soothing. I watch his eyes on me from across the ocean of this tub and feel calm, relaxed even. The world is sleeping but sleep is the furthest thought from my head. Matt is a sex god and I am greedy for his love. I feel so alive, every nerve-ending is buzzing. How can I consider sleeping at a time like this? I may never have another moment like this, so why waste it? Grasp hold of it and finally, at 36 years of age, I finally understand what all those bumper stickers mean. Live life to the full. Seize the day â well, Iâm seizing it, sisters; that and something else. Heâs out there somewhere and itâs been at least 30 minutes since I got some and I think I need some more. Definitely!
âTell me something.â Iâm doing my best crocodile impression with the water lapping at the side of the tub.
âThis is a first.â
âYouâre lying!â
âIâm not,â protests the Heavenly Baker. âIâve never shared a tub with a gorgeous girl â¦â
âYouâre such a liar!â
He holds up a finger and frowns at me. âLet me finish,â he says gently.
âOK.â
âRude girl,â he murmurs.
âSorry.â
âIâve never shared the tub with a beautiful girl at one in the morning.â
âWait a minute!â I protest. âFirst you said I was gorgeous and now Iâm merely beautiful. You need to get your facts straight, mister. Which one am I?â
âYouâre so needy,â he replies.
âIâm a woman. It comes with the territory. Get used to it.â My reflection is glaring, but I can ignore with the best of them.
âI guess Iâll have to,â concedes Matt.
âWhat was that?â I ask, eyebrows heading for the heavens. âDid I just hear you suggest that this might be more than a one-night stand?â
âYou have such a bad opinion of me. I donât, as a rule, sleep with women Iâve just met, even if they are gorgeous, and Iâm really not a player.â
âBeing a player isnât necessarily a bad thing,â I point out.
âIsnât it?â
âIt generally means you know what youâre doing around women, which is a good thing, especially if weâre talking about what happens in the bedroom. Itâs a problem, though, if a player remains a player even when in a relationship.â
âIsnât that a bit screwy?â asks Matt. âA leopard rarely changes its spots.â
âI didnât make the rules,â I say with a shrug.
âYouâre very cute.â
âA minute ago I was beautiful.â
âYouâre so needy,â Matt murmurs once more as he shakes his head softly.
âYou bet.â I make waves as I relocate across the tub so Iâm lying above his gorgeously toned body, our noses nearly touching.
âHello,â says Matt.
âHello,â I reply.
âYouâre still not sleepy, are you?â
âNot one bit.â In truth, Iâm buzzing worse than the Duracell Bunny.
âYou have quite a body down there,â I
