if I just go back up to my room?” Mr. Kinsley looked even more concerned for Jo but agreed and walked her up to her room.
“Do you need anything? Would you like for me to ring for the maid for you?” Jo shook her head yes and Mr. Kinsley went over to the bell pull and rang for the maid. “I want you to promise me that you are going to rest tonight. If you still are n o t feeling much better I want you to stay in bed tomorrow too.”
“I cannot stay in bed all day tomorrow Bradley. We are supposed to figure out what to do about our wedding.” Jo looked even more stressed with the mention of their coming nuptials .
“I think that we can discuss all of that another day if you are in need of rest. I would love to have you as my bride so that I can bring you home with me and take care of you there. But I also understand that you have been through qui t e a lot lately and I want you to make sure that you are really ready and that you take care of yourself.” Jo was overwhelmed with feelings of love.
“Thank you for being so understanding Bradley. I do not know what I would have done without you these past few days.” Mr. Kinsley pulled her in for a quick hug. The rush of comfort she always felt in his arms was something she was sure she would love having every day for the rest of her life.
“If you think that I am here for you now you should wait and see what a great husband I am going to make for you. But seriously just rest now and we will figure the rest of it out later. There is no pressure and no rush.” Mr. Kinsley left as the maid came in and soon Josephine began the process of getting undressed and ready to lie down for the night.

Hours later Jo was suddenly awoken when a chill entered the room. As she lay in bed wondering why her room was suddenly cold Jo heard the slight rhythmic clicking that sounded like someone strumming or tapping their nails. Trying to adjust her eyes to the darkness of her room Jo looked around in search of the sound. There she was again the transparent form of her aunt.
Jo did her best to hold back a scream as she scrambled back from her a unt’s ghost. “How is it that you are doing this? This cannot be real.” Jo realized that she was more scared of the unknown re asoning then the fact that her a unt was essentially haunting her at random.
“I know that this might be hard on you. It is really hard on me. But I need your help with something and I do not know how much time I am going to have to tell you.” Jo took several deep breaths to calm herself down.
“Alright, what is it that you need from me?” Katherine smiled at Jo for a second before responding. It was so like Jo to try and look past something she could not explain in order to help someone in need.
“I knew that I would be able to count on you. I need you to help me find my killer.” Jo felt like she was going to cry for a moment but f ocused on what it was that her a unt was asking of her.
“Do you remember who it is?” Seeing Katherine shake her head no she started asking more questions. “Well do you remember anything? What he did to you? How i s i t that he knew how to get straight to you? What does he looked like?”
“That is the problem. I cannot seem to remember his name but I know that I knew him. I remember that when I first opened my eyes and saw him that I was confused on why he was there at that time and in my room. It was n o t until he started talking and telling me what he was going to do to me and why that I really started to get scared.”
“Okay, that is at least a little something to go on. Can you remember how recently you may have seen him before then? Like had you seen him recently or was it more of a vague remembrance of someone that you used to know?”
“I think that I had seen him recently because I remember instantly recognizing him. I just cannot seem to remember who it was.” Jo thought for a second.
“Aunt, you said that he told you why he was there. Do you
