know?”
    “Tomorrow.”
“Come on lets join the others.” She said
trying to stop herself from bursting into tears.
They walked through to the dining room and
sat down.
“Are you ok?” Melissa asked Katie.
“Yeah fine.” They ate the rest of their
meals then Nikos and Melissa left.
    Chapter 16
Andreus and Nikos walked into the
conference room together at nine o’clock the
next morning where Theo was waiting. “Good
morning papa.” Nikos smiled as they sat
down.
“Good morning, how is my beautiful
grand-daughter?”
    “Fine thank you.”
“I hear Katie is back Andreus?”
    “Yes papa.” He smiled.
“Will she be coming for a visit before
she returns to England?”
“We’re going on the yacht for a few
days, but we’ll come home before she
returns.”
“Excellent! Now lets get down to
----
business. Unfortunately the New York
skyscraper is not going to plan, I think one of
you is going to have to go over there for six
months until the project is complete. Andreus
you are the obvious choice.”
“Of course papa, but I wont be free to
go for two weeks, I want to spend some time
with Kate before I go.”
    “I know son, that’s fine.”
“Papa, Mel and I were talking last night
and we feel I should be the one to go. I
designed the structure…”
“You have a family here Nik! Yes I love
Kate and it’s going to be horrible not to see
her for six months but you cant leave your
family.”
“Mel and Sophia will come with me.
We’ll move over as a family for six months.”
    “Nik…”
“No, Andreus it’s easier for us! As you
said you love Kate, she cant come with you
not when she has Rhiannon. Mel is fine about
going.”
“You’re sure Melissa is happy with
this?” Theo asked.
    “Absolutely papa.” Nikos smiled.
“Fine then it’s sorted, you two had
better go and make sure your women are
behaving.” Theo grinned. Andreus and Nikos
laughed as they left the room.
----
“Thanks Nik.” Andreus said.
“No thanks necessary, you and Kate are
good together you’re not breaking up over
this stupid bloody design of mine.”
Katie and Melissa were sitting in a
coffee shop feeding Sophia. “So it looks like
Andreus will be going to New York for six
months, that’ll be the end of us.”
    “Why?” Melissa looked stunned.
“We’ve been together for a month Mel.
We’re not strong enough to cope with such a
long separation.”
“Kate, you’re crazy about each other!
Besides you don’t know that he’ll be going
yet.”
    “It’s a huge possibility.”
“I wasn’t going to tell you this but if
one of them has to go it’ll be Nik.”
    “What about you and Sophia?!”
“We’ll be going with him. We spoke
about it last night and it’s easier that way.”
    “But Mel…”
“It’s what we both want, I’m quite
excited about it actually! Bloomingdales,
Macy’s and Sak’s on my doorstep, I’ll be in
my element! Trust me Kate, it’s no hardship
so long as papa agrees.” She wiped Sophia’s
mouth and strapped her back into her
----
pushchair. “Now stop fretting ok, and lets
spend our men’s money.”
    “I cant spend Andreus’ money?!”
“Oh but honey you can! You need
clothes for your trip. Come on.”
Nikos and Andreus were sitting on the
balcony drinking whiskey when Katie,
Melissa and Sophia arrived at the apartment,
Katie was loaded with carrier bags. “Looks
like you two had good fun.” Nikos laughed.
“You haven’t seen the half of it babe,
my shopping is still in the car.”
“Is my credit card burning again?”
“Yep.” He groaned as Melissa laughed.
“Did you buy some things for our trip?”
Andreus asked Katie as he pulled her down on
his lap.
“Yes I used my own money though.”
She grinned at Melissa who rolled her eyes.
“I hope not! I didn’t give you my card
last night for nothing.”
“I used it a few times.” She smiled.
“You should have used it every
