I'm just at Logan's, I'd love to grab dinner, where were you thinking?" I asked.
"Hmm I want Chinese food! I'll come to you, there's a great place down town," she told me.
"Okay, awesome. I'll see you soon."
"Yup. I'm getting in my car now babe, see ya shortly," she said hanging up.
I had a quick shower and chose a navy blue and white polkadot sundress to wear, Logan said he liked it when I wore it so it had become my new favourite. I towel dried my hair and decided to leave it down so it would air dry faster, I'm low maintenance. After I put my bra on I looked in the mirror observing my chest, my breasts appeared like they were spilling out of my bra and they were tender to touch. I put the dress on and went to look for my diary.
I scanned the month looking for the due date of my period, the 26 th , that was today, sometimes my breasts did get sore around my period I thought. My phone lit up with a text from Veronica saying she was downstairs.
I walked out the lobby to see Veronica waiting on the sidewalk. She was dressed in a floral playsuit that showed off her long tanned legs.
"Hey beautiful!" she called out before placing a quick peck on each side of my face.
"Hey! Thanks for calling me, I was going bored out of my mind, I can't wait for this fight to be over with."
"Boo, me too, come home, I miss you roomie!" She joked.
"I've only been gone a week!"
"A week too many!" she said, "the Chinese place is just a few streets down so I thought we'd walk," she said linking her arm in mine as we walked together.
We took opposite sides of the purple velvet booth and ordered a pot of Chinese tea. I sipped on the warm tea and my stomach felt a little more at ease.
"The wonton soup here is good," Veronica told me.
"Ah yes, soup sounds good. I haven't been feeling well lately," I told her.
"In what way, hun?" she asked looking concerned.
"Just an upset stomach, it comes and goes, I must have caught something,"
"I hope you're not pregnant!" she said laughing.
I laughed back for a second but then it dawned on me. The first time Logan and I made love we didn't use protection.
"Fuck," I said before quickly holding my tongue as the waiter placed our meals in front of us.
"Noo!" Veronica said reading the expression on my face as if I had told her the answer.
"I don't know," I said "it never crossed my mind Ver, fuck, how could I be so stupid?" I said shaking my head in disbelief.
"So it's a possibility?" she said looking at me with her big brown eyes.
"I think so...the first time we didn't.." my voice trailed off, I didn't need to explain myself further.
"Well shit Willow," she said with a sigh "after dinner we'll get a test and get to the bottom of this."
As we ate our meals Veronica made many failed attempts to change the conversation. It was no use though, when I got something big into my head I could not shake it until I had the answers I needed. We paid the bill and walked to a drug store on the corner by Logan's apartment.
"What if it's positive?" she asked as we stepped out of the elevator.
"I don't know Ver, this is just...I won't know the answer until I take the test" I told her.
I locked myself in the bathroom and opened the package laying the contents on the marble bathroom counter. I stared at them until my eyes glazed over. Veronica knocked on the door snapping me back into reality. I knew this wasn't something I could put off, I needed the answer. I took the cup and sat on the toilet letting my urine trickle into it. When I was done I put the pregnancy test stick into it, closed the lid on the toilet seat and sat there staring. Two lines appeared on the window of the test. I scrambled through the pamphlet to see what they meant. One line equals negative pregnancy, two lines equals pregnant. I could barely believe what I was reading. I was pregnant. I was eighteen years old and I was pregnant to my stepbrother.
"Well, I'm pregnant," I said
