By the time April returned, Paulo had ordered for her and dinner was served. During the meal, April and Paulo engaged in rather mundane small talk about their day to day issues as if I was not at the table, but I was curious as to what had transpired between April and the blonde waitress.
At one point near the end of the meal, Paulo turned to me and inquired. “April tells me you're in charge at work, Scott? Does being in charge seem like a hassle to you?"
The simple truth was I didn't mind being the boss except when it came to April. “It's not bad, sir, except when I interact with April. I've never felt comfortable being her boss."
"So as things progress and you give up control you should feel more comfortable. You masculinity may want to fight the idea of letting go as we males are conditioned to want to be in charge. Try to just let things go if you can.” Paulo sounded sincere and his advice seemed sound to me.
