sauntered back into the resort, as if their parting didn’t affect him.
Tears streamed down Shay’s cheeks as she watched Linden disappeared into the resort. She crossed her right hand against her breasts. Her heartbeat was erratic, and she sighed from the emotions curdling inside of her.
“I love you!” she finally admitted as the Jade Mountain Resort whizzed by in the background.

Two hours later, Shay took her first class seat on the jet and Michael was already seated and having a drink. He was really enjoying the amenities of flying in first class.
“I thought you were going to miss this flight, Shay!”
“I’m here,” she hissed disgusted because she was seated next to the idiot.
“How was your island fling?” he snickered.
“And how was your island slut? ” she retaliated.
“It takes one to know one,” he added, a nasty undertone in his voice.
“When we get home, I want you and all of your shit out of my apartment. Enjoy the rest of this flight, because your free-loading days are over!” That said, Shay asked the flight attendant to change her seat. She couldn’t possibly sit next to him for the next four and a half hours.
“You’re ending our good thing because of him? ” Michael asked, reeking of alcohol.
What had she seen in Michael for the last three years? Shay wondered.
“We’re finished ,” she countered, ice etching her tone.
The flight attendant found a seat for her in coach. She slept her headache away, clutching the black velvet box Linden had given. She missed him already, and she couldn’t wait for his phone call, later that evening.

Linden boarded the company jet and could’ve kicked himself for not asking Shay to join him. He could’ve easily instructed the pilot to drop her off in Philadelphia first, and then swing back into Baltimore/Washington International Airport.
    But I didn’t, he thought.
Things were moving a little too fast for him. He’d never felt this way about any woman, so he needed to pump the brakes, and slow things down.
Linden didn’t lie to Shay when he said he would call her. He had every intention of pursuing a relationship with her, but he needed to think . Yesterday, while she was having a massage, he went down to the jewelry store looking for a gift for Shay. The platinum pendant he purchased for her wasn’t a goodbye gift—more like “ an until we meet again gift.” The diamond star pendant reminded him of Shay. She was a quiet storm: warm-hearted, beautiful and passionate in his arms.
Her kisses were sweeter than Godiva chocolate. When he penetrated her succulent core, the way her pussy insistently clenched him, drove him wild. He loved the way her long talons clawed his back, and how she cried out his name when he came—spilling his lifeline.
Shay has branded me for life, he thought.
Sexually, they were compatible. Intellectuality, she could hold her own—although, she was a bookkeeper for a small finance company. They liked the same kind of music, and in seven days he knew his heart. He could’ve committed to Shay before she boarded that plane. In fact, he had requested a custom piece to match the diamond star pendant. The designer was local, so Linden commissioned him to make the matching ring to the two-carat diamond pendant.
Linden could hear his father telling him that anything that’s worth having would wait for him. If Shay is the woman for me, God will keep her, until we meet again.
    “Mr. Stewart,” Wendy greeted.
Linden looked up at the smiling face of the company’s flight attendant.
“Would you like anything to drink before takeoff, sir?”
“No, Wendy. I think I’ll just take a nap.”
“You look refreshed and relaxed, sir. Did you enough your vacation?”
“I must say, I’ve enjoyed my time on St. Lucia,” he said. His mouth curved into an unconscious smile.
“We’ll be taking off soon. Please fasten your seatbelt.”
Linden fastened his seatbelt and gazed out the window. Shay
