Somebody killed Lilian.  They killed her!” Gia screamed into the phone hysterically.
“Hold on.  Calm down.  Where are you?”  Sadie responded.
“…They stabbed her.  They stabbed her and killed her.”
Sandie strolled into Sadie’s office wearing a woman’s business suit by Chanel with Gucci heels.  She babbled away on her phone until noticing the expression on Sadie’s face.  A haunted expression, reserved for those who’d witnessed a horrendous crime against humanity.
“What’s wrong?”  Sandie asked, disconnecting her call.
Sadie pulled herself together, ignoring the ominous tremor running up and down her spine.  She opened and closed both hands and made eye contact with Sandie.
“Gia just called.  Lilian was found dead in Clay Terrace.  She’d been stabbed to death,” Sadie said.
“What!”  Sandie almost yelled.  “Are you serious?”
“Let’s go,” Sadie said, flying out of her office.
Sandie followed suit.  Sadie hopped into her ruby red 2012 XKR Jaguar Coupe and put the 510 horses beneath its hood to work.  She and Sandie headed to the morgue to meet Gia.

“She’d been fuckin with this nigga around there.  And I kept tellin her he wasn’t worth shit.  This dirty ass nigga.  But she kept fuckin with him.  She was fallin in love or some shit.  And I thought it would pass.  But it didn’t.  Then she started acting strange and takin E pills and smoking K-2 and crazy shit.  That’s why she kept asking for time off.  And she got killed around there.  Some of them jealous bitches,” Gia sobbed.
Sadie sat there, listening solemnly.  She inhaled deeply on her cigarette.  Painful memories of her mother’s death stormed through her mind.  The beating.  Her being slapped across the floor.  How incredibly large the man appeared to be to the six year old Sadie.
    “Smack-Smack-Smack.”
    “…They’re all tricks…”
Sadie was furious that Lilian had been murdered.  She was deeply saddened.  It was as if she’d lost one of her flock.
“Gia, why didn’t I know any of this?  Why didn’t ANYONE make me aware of this?” Sadie asked, glaring at Gia.
“I told her not to tell you.  I didn’t want you to fire Lilly,” Madelyn blurted.
Sadie’s chest heaved.  Her eyes were pearls of ice.  She took a few deep breaths and forced herself to relax.
“I’ve been very open with all of you from the beginning.  What I condone here is NOT legal.  The risks we all take on a daily basis can quickly become life threatening.  We have to protect each other.  BUT NOT FROM EACH OTHER.  No matter what the outcome, let me know what’s going on.  I’ll do all I can for you.  I’m here for you.  I’m in this with you,” Sadie said.
Gia began to cry again.  Madelyn wrapped her arms around her.
    “I’m sorry,” Madelyn said.
One thing Sadie had learned was that Lilian’s death hadn’t occurred while she was on a scheduled date set up by Nu Shu’s.  And if there were any reliefs in this picture, that was one of them.

Sadie stepped into the Olive Garden and was directed to her reserved table.  She took a seat, stunning in nothing but Jimmy Choo with accessories by Robert Cavalli, and waited for her $5,000 date.
He seemed to appear out of nowhere.  Shocked, Sadie held her composure as she stared at the familiar face of Mr. Lyle Bernstein.
“Allison Houston, I presume?” Mr. Berstein said, towering over her.
“Lyle,” she responded, extending her hand.
Lyle kissed Sadie’s hand and took a seat.  He leaned back into his chair and eyed Sadie with an expression only his passionate face was capable of making.  He said nothing for quite some time. Sadie also
