mouth invaded mine in a kiss that was all consuming.  I buried my hands in his thick hair all the while pondering how it was possible that this magnificent man in my arms was mine.
"Come for me baby, I don't have much time."  His pounding increased and the desperation of his kiss followed suit.  My body, following his command, began to tremble and my core contracted as he reached his own release.

    Chapter Six

Kayden had meetings scheduled all day at work on Tuesday; he left the apartment early and was not returning until after six.  As head of Hale Enterprises, a large real estate conglomerate that extended beyond Chicago, his responsibilities were endless.  To be sure, I did not know a lot about his business ventures and every time he started talking about it we ended up distracted by other things.
I did not have to report to my office until next week, so I decided that this was the week to get things in order.  First order of business was an appointment with the gynecologist.  I wanted to make sure that I was adequately protected; with all the sex Kayden and I were having the last thing I needed was an accident.  Lucky for me she had a cancellation and was able to see me today at one. Next order of business was to call my mother and the children.  I had been missing in action both Saturday and Sunday and wanted to make sure they were okay.  My mother had not been feeling well the last couple of days; I told her she needed to call the doctor.
"Do you need me to fly to Miami?  I don’t have to report for work until next Monday," I suggested, but she insisted it was probably nothing.  Still, she promised she would call the doctor.
The girls were fine, they had spent the weekend with friends and the last thing they had in mind was their mother.  Damien was busy with school and scouting fraternities.
I was feeling tired and my body was achy.  A nap before my drive to the doctor probably would be best.  The reality was that I had not slept very much during the last few days; that combined with traces of jet lag probably had me under the weather.
I sent a quick text to Kayden telling him about the appointment.

" I'll be at the doctor's this afternoon, let me know if you want dinner when you get back."  EMM

"I want dinner and much more; missing you, the meeting's boring.  Counting down the minutes until I can be inside you again." K

                Then another one came.

"Lucky you got an appointment, the condoms are becoming unbearable." K

"Your texts are making me blush, get back to work before I'm tempted to run over there."  EMM

"Please rescue me; by the way what does the M stand for?" K

"I'll tell you tonight.  Go back to work, I need to rest before my overactive, extremely adept lover gets back." EMM

"Overactive and adept? I like that." K

"Okay, who told you I was talking about you?" EMM

      "You better be." K

"I'll reveal his identity tonight.  In the mean-time I need rest." EMM

          "Rest, sweetheart." K

I set the alarm on my phone for twelve noon, and went to sleep with a song in my heart and an ache in my head.  I woke up from the sound of the alarm feeling flushed and achy.

Doctor Roth had been my doctor for over twenty years.  She had delivered all my children and had become more of a friend than anything else.  I trusted her implicitly.
"So what can I do for you today Ellie?"
"Well, as you know I have been taking a low-dosage pill for over two months.  I have become sexually active recently and just want to make sure it's sufficient protection."
We spent time discussing the different types of birth control available and the advantages and disadvantages of each one. At the end of the day I decided to stay with the pill I was using, given that the side effects had been
