you.â Farrah smiled and headed in that direction.
Once she reached the second floor of the yacht, she spotted Mills sipping on a mimosa and reading an article in Details magazine. Sensing someone watching him, Mills looked up.
âThere you are, sleepyhead.â He got up from the table and greeted her with a kiss on the cheek. âFor a minute I thought I was gonâ have to call a doctor.â
âWhy?â Farrah asked as he pulled out her chair.
ââCause youâve been knocked out since we boarded the plane. You were poppinâ Xanax like they were Skittles.â
âYeah, Iâm sorry about that. I just kept on feeling like I was having a panic attack,â Farrah explained.
âYou cool now?â Mills examined her face, worried.
âYeah, being next to the sea is very comforting. I feel like a new woman already.â She smiled, slightly.
The aqua blue sea was breathtaking. Sheâd never seen anything like it, except in pictures.
âIâm glad youâre feeling better. Now we can start enjoying our honeymoon.â Mills ran his fingers through her hair and kissed her neck.
Farrah wanted more than anything to share in his excitement, but for some reason a dark cloud rested over her head. She never imagined on her honeymoon sheâd feel so disconnected from the man sheâd just swore to love forever.
âYou hungry?â Mills asked, pouring her a glass of juice.
âUmm.â Farrah stared at the array of food and became queasy. âNo, I think I lost my appetite.â
âYou trippinâ.â Mills stacked his plate with eggs Benedict, bacon, sausage, and fruit.
âI think Iâma go take a shower and get dressed.â Farrah excused herself from the table.
âYouâre sure you donât want none?â he asked again.
âYeah, Iâm sure.â
âAâight, well hurry back!â Mills yelled after her.
The rest of the day Farrah floated along, doing what to her were meaningless activities, like sightseeing and snorkeling to appease Mills. If it were up to her, she wouldâve gladly slept through their entire honeymoon. Sheâd tried boosting her excitement level, but the tortuous possibility that sheâd married Mills, knowing fully well heâd cheated and possibly fathered a child, consumed her every thought.
Mills tried to pretend that he didnât notice her distant behavior, but by nightfall he couldnât fake it anymore. Farrah was miserable and it showed all over her face. She didnât deserve to feel like shitâhe did. Heâd willingly married Farrah under false pretenses in order to prevent his own suffering. All throughout the morning of the wedding he paced back and forth, thinking about whether or not to come totally clean to Farrah. Not only had he not confessed that there actually was a high chance that Jaysin might be his, but heâd also lied about taking the paternity test. Deep down, he knew what the results would be and he couldnât risk losing Farrah once she found out. He hated having to lie to her, but he knew if he told her everything before the wedding she would have called the whole thing off and probably never forgave him.
Mills figured theyâd get married and heâd convince her of his undying love, so by the time the truth was revealed sheâd be more inclined to stayâor so he hoped. He was fully aware of how wrong it was, but he loved her too much to risk losing her. Heâd be completely destroyed if she was to walk out of his life, so he was willing to do anything to keep her. But now, seeing how unhappy Farrah was and knowing it was all his fault, he felt like the biggest asshole.
The light of the silver moon shone down onto the skyline of the yacht, cascading a soft glow onto Farrah, highlighting her misery. For over an hour she sat alone, gazing at her wedding ring, wondering if she had made a mistake. The only
