their lips.
“Evening, folks. Anything special you’re looking for?” one of the men asked, obviously focused on Declan.
“No thanks, we’d just like to look around, if that’s all right,” Declan said.
Without looking at the men, he led her through the trashy-slutty lingerie to the area of the store where all sorts of sex toys were openly displayed in their plastic packages. He released her hand and wrapped his arm around her when she began to tremble with nerves.
“Shhh, darlin’. Relax. Nothing’s going to happen,” he murmured.
    “I don’t think I can.”
“We’ll have to do something about that, but for now I need something. Has a man ever taken that beautiful ass of yours?”
The sexy purr of his tone barely softened the shocking subject of his question. In response, Chloe’s asshole clenched tight.
“Once,” she said, when he turned her face up so she looked deep into his eyes, “a long time ago.”
“And what did you think of it?”
“It hurt, but he was so drunk I don’t think he realized what he’d done,” Chloe whispered, dropping her gaze to his lips instead of his all-seeing eyes.
“Did he not prepare you? Stretch the muscles? Use lots of lube?”
Chloe found herself blinking back tears as she shook her head. “It was my ex-husband, and we were both trashed. He wanted to screw me doggie style. I don’t think he meant to take my ass, but his aim was off, and he missed my pussy. Once he was in, I couldn’t get him to stop.”
She dropped her forehead to rest against Declan’s chest and began to cry as the memory overwhelmed her of the pain when he had slammed into her time and again until he came. Then he pulled out and rolled off, asleep before his head had hit the bed. She’d cleaned up and never spoke of that night again. But that had been the last time she’d slept with her ex-husband.
“I want ta make love with ye in every way possible, every way a man can love a woman, Chloe. But I won’t cause ye pain if I can help it,” Declan whispered as he rubbed his hands up and down her back. “Would ye be willing ta try it again? For me?”
Chloe shocked herself by nodding yes against his chest.
“Good girl.” He kissed her hair and hugged her. “What color plugs would you like?”
“Huh?” Chloe lifted her head and turned to look at the display.
There were a half-dozen butt plugs of various sizes hanging on the wall. Each came in several colors.
She felt her face burn as Declan pulled the choices for the smallest plug off the wall and fanned them out for her to choose.
“I personally like the purple,” he said with a wink and a grin, “but I’ll leave it up to you.”
Chloe looked at the choices in his hand. For a moment, she was more concerned about where that thing was going rather than what color it was. Purple, red, black, and green were the options.
“I like the purple, too,” she whispered, wishing, hoping, praying the floor would open up and swallow her to keep her from dying of embarrassment in the middle of a sex shop.
    “Then purple it is.”
Declan slid the others back onto their rack then chose two other purple ones that were each bigger than the last. Chloe wanted to walk away, but a glance over her shoulder proved the two men were still watching them closely.
Declan seemed oblivious as he moved further down the wall to a display of lubricants. Chloe would have just grabbed one and left, but Declan picked each one up and thoroughly read the back. Then he consulted the back of the plug packages before making his decision.
Finally, he made his choice. “It tastes like cherries,” he said with a wicked grin.
Instead of heading to the checkout counter, he pulled Chloe along and made her pick out a vibrator. “For when you’re alone and horny,” he murmured with a wink.
“But I’ve already got one,” she whispered, her face burning with embarrassment.
“Pick one anyway. One you can use when yer thinking of me.”
    With a sigh,
