run yourself into the ground.”
She told herself his words didn’t make any sense. “I beg your pardon?”
“You will beg, eventually, Jillian, I can promise you that. And I’ll put you down when we get home.”
Bossy, domineering asshole . Jillian didn’t wonder that those words had come to mind. What did keep her from fighting him was the vague sense deep inside that somehow, running, pushing herself, she’d called for help, as she had countless times in her life before.
Only this time, finally , someone had heard her.

Chapter 4

Robert was very glad that the distance he had to walk, carrying Jillian, was nearly three blocks. He needed the time it would take them to get home for him to get his temper under control.
His armful of woman had fallen silent, and as he made his way toward his house, he focused on her, on her breathing and the reaction of her body to so suddenly not be moving.
“I’ll run ahead,” David said. “The master bath?”
    “Yes, please.”
David nodded then jogged off, while Robert continued to walk at the same steady pace.
    “What about the master bath?”
Jillian didn’t sound cowed, or afraid, which would have given him a great deal of pause. She’d asked a question, and so he answered her. “We’re going to turn the master bathroom into a temporary exam room.”
She didn’t ask for clarification. Robert was well aware she thought he meant medical exam room, as in they were going to make sure she hadn’t suffered any damage from her little emotional meltdown.
    She’d be half right.
Jillian sighed. “I really am all right, although I think my legs might begin to cramp before long. They already really hurt.”
“They won’t cramp up if we can prevent it. Just hush, now, and let us take care of you.”
“I don’t know how to do that.” The look on her face that followed that statement told Robert more than he bet she realized.
She hadn’t meant to reveal that particular truth, but found herself unable to do anything but yield to his will and be completely open to him. She couldn’t even keep her mouth shut to protect herself. He shuddered to think of the life she’d likely led before setting foot in Lusty.
    Before becoming mine .
Instead of telling her that, he said, “You’ll learn.”
He imagined her docility would disappear very quickly if he told her that she did indeed belong to him and his brother. For the moment she was not submitting so much as she was acquiescing, likely because she realized she could very well have hurt herself with that little stunt. Plus, he’d felt her trembling when he’d picked her up.
His house came in sight, and Robert inwardly sighed with relief. So far, his sweet little burden didn’t seem to notice that his very hard and erect cock was poking at her side despite the layers of clothing that lay between them.
“We’re here, apparently. I think I can walk now.”
Robert didn’t think he could take watching her try, and then fail. “Be quiet.”
He easily opened the screen door, and then headed up the stairs. As they approached the master suite, he could hear the sound of the hot tub jets. David would have turned those and the heater for the tub on immediately. Neither one of them had used the tub in a couple of days. They took turns using the master bath—it was just too luxurious an amenity to pass up—though of course, they each had their own bedroom and bathroom.
That was probably about to change.
Robert walked through the bedroom into the bathroom, and deposited Jillian on the long counter that also held three sinks.
“You’re very domineering, do you know that?”
Robert grinned. “I’m not domineering, sweetheart, I’m a Dominant.”
    “That’s what I said.”
“No, it isn’t. You called me domineering, which means inclined to arbitrary and excessive or overbearing control. There’s nothing arbitrary about my attitude toward you, though I can’t promise it will never slide toward the
