Love Unbound (Billionaire In Love 2)
Love Unbound

    Chapter 1
It had been about a week since Jack had come in and out of Scarlett's life. The blazing passion had scorched her soul, and while she was in the midst of it she thought that it would never end. But like all of her other romantic endeavors, she was left disappointed. Jack had seemed different at first, like he truly saw her. The feelings they shared were electric and she'd never experienced anything like it before but now she felt foolish, like her heart had been taken for a ride and she had been used... although what a way to be used it was!
The billionaire seemed to come and go as he pleased. It was his company after all, but Scarlett had hoped that he'd stay around... for her.
“I thought you said he was going to be here for a few days?” Scarlett had asked Mandy, trying not to make it obvious that her interest in Jack Keyes was more than simple curiosity.
“I thought so but he just does whatever he wants to do. Sometimes he'll stay here for a while, other times he'll jet off to somewhere else in the world. What a life that must be...” she said, looking off wistfully into the distance. Scarlett frowned and returned to her office. She didn't like her hopes being dashed and she had allowed herself to entertain the thought that something could have started. At first she never would have believed it because he could have any woman he wanted. After all, he was Jack Keyes, the reclusive billionaire who had such an air of mystery about him, and after being in his presence she knew how intoxicating and alluring his aura could be.
The first kiss had been like the first taste of a powerful drug. They'd tried to resist, knowing that it would be wrong for the two of them to begin anything since he owned the company she worked for, but ultimately had been unable to control the passion that raged within their hearts. It had been so exciting to give into her most primal, savage desires and let the instincts of her body take control as the two of them made love in his office. Knowing that everyone else was outside just added to the intensity as well, and ever since then, Scarlett had enjoyed holding the secret close to her heart.
She hadn't even told Mandy, who was her closest friend in the office, although the mousy-haired woman did comment on the fact that Scarlett had spent a long time in Jack's office. Scarlett also got the sense that the other people in the office were speculating about the nature of her and Jack's meeting as well, but none of them came out and directly asked her. After the way they had treated her, she wasn't likely to tell them either, and although she was upset at how Jack had just left without even saying goodbye, her work life had improved immensely. No longer did Sam and the others ignore her ideas. In meetings she was actually involved in the discussions and her ideas were taken on board, for none of them wanted to go against Jack's wishes.
And yet, despite it all, there was an empty feeling inside her. For so long she had spent all of her energy and focus on getting the promotion, and now that it had arrived, she found that other areas of her life were lacking. After all, it would take some more time before she could rise through the ranks again, and given that Jack had given her a taste of true passion, she was starting to crave it more and more each day.
When she lay in bed at night, she often thought about him. She wondered if she would ever see him again, and if she did, how it would go. She'd never had a one night stand before so she had never experienced the awkward moment of running into someone she'd had a fling with. Most of her relationships had ended mutually; it had only been Matt that was proving a problem. She laughed darkly at herself when she thought about telling Matt that she had slept with another man. She hadn't heard from him after he'd sent that second bouquet of flowers, so she stored that particular piece of information away for some ammunition
