scoffed and looked around the office. “No…I’m only starting.”
She spun on her insanely high stiletto heel and stormed out of the office but he knew better. He followed her closely and saw her stalking toward Tamara.
    “Shit.”
“Do you want me to call someone?” Kendra asked.
    “No…”
He ran after Selina who spun Tamara’s chair around and pulled at her hair before slamming her head down on the table. Chad pulled Selina’s arms back and away from Tamara.
    “Kendra…get Tamara some help!”
Kendra ran past them toward Tamara while Chad wrestled Selina into the janitor’s closet and locked it. Selina screamed and bashed against the door but the door was sturdy and didn’t budge.
    “What the hell?”
“She thought Tamara was the one I was taking home.”
“So…if she thought it was me, she would have done it to me? I thought you were divorced.”
    “We are.”
Tamara looked up, her nose bloody, but thankfully it wasn’t broken. She had tears running down her cheeks, and her hands were shaking.
    “I’ll call an ambulance.”
Kendra moved off leaving Chad with Tamara. If Selina had of attacked Kendra like this, he didn’t know what he would have done but he knew his rule of never hitting a woman would have been broken.

Chapter Eight
    ~
    Two months later

Kendra pulled up outside the apartment building. Chad had been successfully running the secondary office of the company while she had been working for Rory. She hadn’t spoken to him since he hired a new assistant, and only went through him. Yes…him. He’d hired a man and Chip was amazing at the job. Kendra found herself laughing quite a lot at his emails, so much so, that it made working for the arrogant beast Rory just bearable. The money wasn’t such a bad motivator either. She locked the car and went over to get in the elevator. Rory needed Chad’s signature on a few contracts today and he’d failed to send them back to her so she decided to break their two month dry spell and go to him. He was still mad at her for pulling away…but he was getting far too attached to her, this had been the only way. When Helena left the company, Tamara had taken the office manager position and a new receptionist had been hired. Tamara kept in touch with Kendra which as much as she had hated to think of it, she really liked. She knocked on the door twice and waited for it to be opened. The sound of feet coming closer could be heard and her heart sped up. Jesus, what was wrong with her? Chad opened the door with a frown. Kendra couldn’t believe the sight before her. He had several days worth of stubble on his jaw, his eyes were red and bloodshot and his clothes were crinkled.
    “Chad?”
    “What do you want?”
    “Can I come in, please?”
He seemed to think about it for a while before finally he moved the door wider and allowed her to walk through into the apartment. She looked around at the formerly pristine apartment. Clothes scattered the floor and paperwork was spread out over the tabletop.
    “What is it, Kendra?”
    “Ok…what the hell is this?”
Chad looked around at the mess and shrugged his shoulders. “Did you just come here to be a judgmental cow?”
Taken aback, she huffed out a scoff and moved over to the table to put the documents down. “I need you to sign these. Rory is waiting for them.”
“And you would do anything for him, right?”
“Fuck, Chad, grow up. Sign the damn contracts so I can leave and let you get back to your pathetic life.”
He stormed toward her and pushed the papers off the table with one sweep of his arm. Kendra rolled her eyes and turned to face him.
    “Really?”
He pushed her back onto the table and pulled at her skirt. She knew he loved thigh high pantyhose and that was why she had changed into them. Secretly, she had wanted this. She had wanted him to fuck her senseless to make up for the past two months. She watched as he knelt down between her legs and swept them up over onto
